NAS recommendations

Hi,
Looking to get a NAS.
Requirements:

1. RAID 1
2. 2 Bays
3. Low power usage
4. Must be able to get files to / from android, ipad, iphone, windows and linux.
5. Connect to home router and accessible over wifi.

Basically I want to centralise storage in my house.

Any tips or suggestions?

How do you access files via android / iOS?

What sort of power does this use in active / idle / standby?

Your one is a good bit cheaper. So is there a trade off? or rip off?

There's loads of apps you can use, I use media home app on android...

power usage isn't too bad, I think only 50 watts or so when its on. I use the auto shut down and start up functions on it, have it set to come on when I get home from work and turn itself off about 2am I think...

I dont really see the benefits of this one over the zyxel one (for what I use it for anyways)... I have it plugged directly into my wireless (upc) router, then from the router to my laptops etc via XBMC for playing movies & music... handy job

One of the benefits is a better brand. Zxyel make some absolutely terrible POS routers, I'd have them on my avoid list with Belkin. Synology just specialise in network storage: http://www.synology.com/index.php?lang=default.
Regardless of which you pick the drives will be made by either Western Digital, Seagate, Toshiba, Samsung or Buffalo.

There's more info on the Zyxel on amazon.com. I have the NSA325, and I'm very happy with it. Don't use it for RAID, so can't comment on that, but I would assume it's functionally identical to the Synology. There is a zMedia app, but I prefer just using the LAN functionality on ES File Explorer.
