Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

20 meters of 4mm rope...which is what you usually get with tarpaulin kits in the diy stores and builders providers.

You clearly just wanted to show off those lovely hands of yours. Have you considered hand modeling? :)

I will tell ya now. If ye ever need a bit of rope to tie the (consenting) wife up with, paddy is the man you need to see.

  • Registered Users Posts: 195 ✭✭MrAbc

Did they have more of that 4mm x 20m rope @ €0.50 clearance...??...

...cos, for €2.50, you could break 5 of those into 5 pairs of 2mm x 20m lengths,
and take one from each pair and braid that set of 5 into a 10mm x 20m rope.

Bargain!! A pair of 10mm x 20m ropes for €2.50!! A quartering of the OP price!!
I smell profit via adverts.ie Mmmm....

I wouldnt advise that. that rope is at its strongest when 20m length. Any shorter and the tensile strength of the woven fabric is lost.
They did a study on the tensility of several ropes and for 4mm width, 20m is the perfect length. depends what you want it for though, the tensilification can be extensified if you double wrap 2 x 4mm cuts together.

They cordoned off the crowd waiting in line for the rope, then when they opened the shop they had used up all the rope... End of the line for my rope hopes

At least that stopped them "skipping" the Q... is there any left anywhere or knot?

I really feel compelled to run out and buy this rope. Have absolutely no (immediate or obvious) use for it...

    Damn you BA.

You mean you're being roped into it?

Saw some reviews of this on amazon.
    Length: 5/5
    Hangability: 4/5
    Ropiness: 5/5
Falls down in tuggability though: 2/5

I'm gonna hold off for a bit.
Can never have too much tuggability.

No need for rope here. If they had pipe I'd get some for the wife. She loves pipe.

I was only hanging around, so skipped down to Lidl to pick up some rope.

    Great way to unwind:D

P.S. On a serios note, the recoil function isn't working on my rope. Anyone else notice this?
