    Hi all,

I want to learn Irish, I live in Portlaoise, The Portlaoise College does not have irish classes at present. Do you know of any school or person who is a qualified Irish teacher?

    Thanks
    Juan

    Hi,

Metac in Mountrath offered conversational Irish classes this year. Not sure about 2013 but they might be worth a call.
    Conversational Irish
Course Duration: 8 weeks, 1 evening per week X 2 hour class Cost: €95

Alternatively you will probably have to travel. Tullamore Adult Ed center offered Junior and Leaving Cert Irish this year but you would probably have to apply for next September as these are usually exam preparation classes and may not take late applications.

Will Portlaoise not be starting another 8 week course in the New Year?

Just spoke to him yesterday. The Portlaoise College classes for Jan aren't finalised yet. It will be the first week of Jan before they are. The list will be in the Leinster Express then. He thought it was unlikely that Irish would be on it as the demand was low enough last year.
