Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

If the guy did actually do a fraudulent claim a month or two after you bought it, wouldn't the insurance company or the provider be able to tell that he wasn't using the handset at the time of the claim?

If they bar a handset off the network (loss or theft) - then they certainly check to see if the last call before the claim was used with the handset that the insurance was on. They normally check the cell tower location to make sure the information on the claim is correct.

Thanks for posting the story here, I've learnt a lot about this type of scam and maybe some of the things to watch out for before buying a phone.

Have you tried to contact the seller? You could ask him did he purchase it in the store, that something's wrong with the phone and Three will only talk to the original purchaser? Maybe a mate of his bought it, could he put you in touch with them?

Get all the info you can, and then I think your best bet would be to go to the local Garda station near where the seller lives, tell them the story and see if they'll go to his house with you when you ask for a refund.
