Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

You'll need to ask the carrier if they will unlock the new one. Doubtful.

It depends on which software/baseband its running. There isn't much in the way of unlocks for 4s yet.

    Its simple really.

You go billpay (i assume on same network your on) and get the iPhone 4S. Put the billpay sim into existing Samsung phone and keep using as you were.

Give iPhone 4S to your son. He will only be able to use it if he is on the same network that gave you the phone (on billpay). They will not unlock for you until your contract is up so if you sign up for billpay for 18mths it will be 18mths before they will unlock the phone to allow it be used with a different network sim.

    Make sense?

    hi
yes thanks ,think that makes sense so as long as i use samsung for bill pay on o2 ,then my son would have to switch to o2 to use iphone 4s

    Finally it makes sense.

O2 wont unlock it for you but theres nothing stopping you getting it
unlocked yourself. Search on Ebay for 'factory unlocking iphone on
O2 ire' costs about 20-30 to permanently unlock it on O2.

Well as it happens O2 is one network that may unlock your new iphone. My mate got an upgrade of an iphone 5. Sold it to me, then he went to this page -
    http://www.o2online.ie/o2/help/unlock-request.php
He put in his reasons and it was unlocked a few days later. Might depend on your monthly tariff though.

If you're a bill pay customer then O2 will unlock the phone for you, no problem

Just contact the reps here http://community.o2online.ie/t5/Apple/bd-p/14 or as Simon201 suggested put in an unlock request to http://www.o2online.ie/o2/help/unlock-request.php
It's a pretty painless process and you will have an officially unlocked iPhone in about a week

+1, O2 don't require you to be out of contract for them to unlock it for you. It'll only take a few days too
