    Hi!

If you would like to start selling homemade food (e.g. jerky, biltong, homemade pork cracklings, etc) to shops and direct to pub's or restaurants, is it possible to do so?

I saw on TV some time ago a story about a lady who started off selling jam made at home.I also know that some housewifes make cakes for a kids parties as a regular business.

Can you advise what things does need to be done to sell food made at home?

    Many thanks,

Contact the Environmental Health Officer in your local HSE. They will have the info you require. Making cakes and jam is considered low risk though by the HSE, anything with meat is higher up the scale and may have a lot more restrictions which might not be practical from a domestic kitchen.

Moved from Food & Drink. Sorry if this wasn't the correct place to send it.
