That's great news. I cant remember the last time, even during the great boom, that there was any kind of job announcement for Wexford of this magnitude.

    ...."a purpose built centre" ??

Why? There are loads of suitable empty buildings in Wexford and the outskirts

Its a massive and major boost to Wexford Town. But typical Ireland there are already large units and premises lying vacant and now a new building is going to be built for Eistec. Why cant the big building that's lying idle out in Drinagh be used or 1 of the empty buildings up in whitemills be used. http://www.irishtimes.com/newspaper/breaking/2012/1217/breaking11.html

To be honest id be fairly happy that a few extra jobs will be created during the construction of this place

I'd say the building would have very specific requirements by way of broadband and electrics, given that it is a call centre. Perhaps the empty buildings around the place won't suit.

Congrats to whoever pitched these jobs to be located in Wexford. No doubt we will have all the 'usual suspects' claiming it was them but no matter

If they are building a purpose built building, this would show they have a long term plan for Wexford.

Hope this will highlight the south east as a location for more to come here

Its great that jobs will be created. But it will be bad if no locals are employed in the construction of the new building. 2nd 3rd and 4th phase of St Johns hospital and the under construction Secondary Gaelschoil in Enniscorthy are prime examples of new developments in the town that no local workers or builders were involved in.

Seems like it's really 170 jobs as 80 will be allocated to former Talk Talk employees from Waterford.Still it's great news for the county.

They won't be building a new building. They'll be leasing an existing one.

Will it be that big empty one across from the Scania garage?

Saw all the dickhe*d smoogers on the news tonight, Kehoe, Howlin etc etc, a bunch of planks. No sign of Micka Wallace !

Why was the press conference in Wexford County Council building? in the council chambers?
