Really enjoyed this edition of RAW. Great esp w/FB and twitter. Anyone seen 'Ryblack' wrestle? He didn't look that big to me... (next to Cena, or Barrett, Sheamo, Big Show, Tensai, Titus....)

Flair is clearly deserving of Superstar of the Year for his stellar year managing Gunner and feuding with Garett Bischoff.

The big question we should answering is: Ryblack or Choc Lesnar?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,904 ✭✭✭Pentecost

I didn't see it, who is "Ryblack"?

Edit: never mind I googled it

  • Moderators, Sports Moderators Posts: 42,912 Mod ✭✭✭✭Lord TSC

Thought that was a very good show.

I popped for Boogeyman. I popped for Flair. The Shield continue to look good, even getting a segment with Flair. Big E was an interesting turn of events. I really like how many new guys were seeing get pushed, but I worry that will stop when the road to Mania starts.

I guess I'll have to watch the Smackdown in case there's a cash in.

And Flair vs Punk? I was having fond flashbacks to my first Draft year :D

Enjoyable enough episode, just finished it there and ended up watching more of it than I thought I would. Goddamn Cena stopping the cash-in, but at least the crowd is starting to get on his back again. I like that Ziggler's still being kept as a legitimate threat though, too often guys get jobbed out before they cash in.
The ending though... Dafuq? Bringing in a new guy at the end of the year, right before the build to WM seems really strange. And as muscley as that guy is, he looked really short and kinda funny.

So Big E is the muscle for DZ who is now with AJ. Okey doke.

Thought it was a great raw. Everything was well thought out, had a great flow to the episode, did anyone else find that?
Maybe it was the abundance of seeing a snippet of what was happening in the next segment, flair walking to the ring, AJ climbing the ladder etc.
In previous weeks it would have been all of something-ad break-something completely different.

One question is why did Cena attack Ziggles when he was about to cash in after he said a few months ago that he couldn't fault someone taking the opportunity to cash in on an already fallen opponent?

Oh yeah, wwe logic isnt real logic.

I took it more as he had a problem with Ziggler personally rather than with what Ziggler was doing. It wasn't an attack to save Show. He's just so angry at Ziggler that he messed up his big moment.

forgettable first hour but second hour onwards was really good (outside the 3mb match going 3 times longer than it should), flairs return was handled excellently i thought, dolph cash in tease...not sure about debuting big e as a heel though given how over he is as a face down in nxt

I took it that way; Dolph was selling the run-in as if he didn't have a clue what was happening. I half expected Biggy to attack him as well.

Guess we'll have to tune in to Smackdown to find out....and then be disappointed when they say they are pushing the reveal back to the next Raw...

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 45,643 ✭✭✭✭Mr.Nice Guy

I was hoping Big E Langston would debut with the 5 count gimmick he's been doing on NXT which he's gotten over down there. I'm sceptical as to whether they'll let him do that now. I'd be surprised if they kept his current theme too which I think is better than most themes:

Guess we'll see how it pans out but he seemed to me best suited for a babyface run and I don't think there would have been a clash with Ryback's gimmick as long as they kept Langston on Smackdown and Superstars initially.

We'll see how it goes. I've been impressed with his charisma from what I've seen of him though he does still have a long way to go.

a few months ago there was talk of mason ryan being zigglers muscle and i believe they even had the two together on a few house-shows

not sure that role will suit big e but we will wait and see, maybe if they book him like oddjob in goldfinger :D

nope i'm not sure at all.

only read about the show so far and just figured if AJ was with Dolph earlier in the show then Big E was going to be Dolphs bodyguard.

At least Ziggler still has the MITB contract. Would have killed his momentum if he'd been the first to not cash it in, even if it was due to Cena's interference.

Cena didn't win the title when he cashed in, so Ziggler would have been the second :P

Same here, think it was cos it was on sky sports 4 and not 3. Fu*king useless, was looking forward all day to getting home from work to watch it too. You'd think they would program their boxes to adjust series links like that.

    Layla.

anyhow, nice surprsie to see flair back.

What was going on with Tensai? Very odd. Felt bad for JTG as well.

Why is Khali going arount with Nattie?

How do WWE always decide Rey will win but Cara will lose while Cody will win but Sandow will lose during tag team turned into singles matches?

Punk is still more likeable than most of the faces, he actually went to the ring when challenged.

Obviously I am watching the show now so just some random thoughts!

His turn to comedy heel was inevitable, and last night, the turn was complete...

First WWE I've watched in about a month, wasn't going to bother watching til Rock comes back but tuned in to see Flair's return, which was handled very well I have to say.

Thought the rest of the show was decent overall. No great matches but no horrible ones either.Only real negatives are that AJ is still being featured so prominently, and that Kane and Bryan still doing the YES-NO schtick which is quite tiresome at this stage.Would've been cool if they brought Dr.Shelby back for the night that was in it.

Good to see Billy Gunn back, thought he looked great.Couldn't give a toss about Dreamer though. Was fun seeing Ambrose and the lads kicking the shíte out of him I suppose.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 29,831 ✭✭✭✭CastorTroy

Is Heath Slater set to face every legend still alive?

So if The Shield are working for Heyman, that means Heyman let them attack Dreamer.

So AJ turned on Cena cos she went Ryblack? :P

The Bogeyman bit could've been done better since couldn't see anything due to the smoke then it cut to ad break before anything happened

Classic. I love this comment very much. Makes it sound like a few boys from d'parish knocking seven shades of sh1t out of a rival GAA player.

I thought the TLC ppv was very good and was happy to see the Shield get the win at it using the 'pack of dogs' advantage. Was cool to see them keep the momentum going on Raw.

Big E. Langston I've never seen before but that finisher looked alright. Not too sure about his ring attire though.

Does anyone know legitimately why Vince hired Tensai/Albert back? Looking for a real reason here. I'll ask in the Q and A section too maybe.

He is a nice guy who left on good terms last time. Cena didn't have any heel opponents in the Spring and they needed someone to fill the void.

Tensai had a baby and wanted to move back to the States and have one last big money run with WWE before he retires.

Thanks for that Rovert. Do you know what kind of deal he is on i.e. how long will he be around? What do you see for his future,if anything, and is there life in the Tensai character. Seems like his return is a speeded up version of Vladimir Kozlov's run with this comedic aspect creeping in possibly!

This is an interesting concept and certainly would be clever to have heyman belittle dreamer, ecw (including the ecw faithful) and everything else other than punk, lesnar and the shield. He's still seen as a face when he comes around to the big cities.

3 years is a pretty much the standard contract. But I don't know his particulars. There's no future left as a heel with The Shield, Langston, Cesaro, Barrett, Ziggler obviously moving up the ranks so a babyface turn does make sense but comedy isn't the way to go in the long run as you said. I would have him in a tag team with an agile midsized guy like Swagger or McGillicutty to try and create the dynamic he had with Karl Anderson in New Japan. If he starts dancing again I'd be raging with if I was Brodus Clay. :P

First Raw I properly watched in ages and I really enjoyed it. Show really did flow well and was fun to watch.

Also, I now know how a download an app :D

  • Moderators, Sports Moderators Posts: 18,669 Mod ✭✭✭✭DM_7

    Tensai should join with Titus.

the Shield going after Dreamer was a good idea after Hell No and Ryback got the better of them earlier. Flairs return was done well.

Enjoyed a good few bits of Raw but used the fast forward for chunks of it aswell.

I really thought Dolph was going to cash in and was genuinely pissed when Cena got involved.

I am curious about Big E's debut and to see where it goes.
