This is not the first time this has happened with a provider of ours.
My wife cancelled her contract with Meteor at the end of November.
It was the end of her 18 month contract & she had given her official 30 day notice.
Phone had gone to PAYG once the period expired, that was fine.

Low & behold Meteor went in again this month & took another €50+.
Took over 3 hours on hold to get through to a rep where they tell you it's part of their procedure & you'll be refunded during the next billing period
Useless customer service & a company we'll never deal with again.

Why, oh why, oh why didn't we cancel our Direct Debit once we knew the contract was up ?, kicking myself here.
These spurious business practices are bound to catch a few customers who won't kick up a fuss, it's pathetic that they are allowed do it.
