Air Rifle shooters in the midlands

    Hi all.

I've recently got a BSA Scorpion t10 and I was just wondering if there was any other air rifle shooters here in the midlands that would like to meet up. As of yet I've only been out 2 or 3 times with it target shooting (messing about). Thought it would be nice to meet others to chat about air rifles and pellets etc.

Cool. Well let's hope the Tullamore lads get involved, I'd like to meet a few plinkers :).
    What are you shooting?

For mine, it took approx 6-7 weeks. But I did have to phone them which I think sped it up a little. also I regularly have to get garda vetting done due to work so my FO said that would be of benefit.

That I know of on boards, myself, Tikkat, and Loveta all do a bit of fieldwork with PCP's - I'm based around north kildare.

Cool. I think I'm the only one in Laois :) I haven't heard of anyone around with a pcp. Does anyone have a link to a good place to get pellets, I want to stock up on a few decent ones. Gun shop gave me a free tin of gamo pro hunter pellets and I don't find them great compared to bisleys

    Intershoot.

Pretty much the only domestic supplier with decent pellets. :/

Tannyoky near Newry also has a great selection!

    Hi

I would recommend Intershoot in Omagh, for .22 or .177 air rifle pellets. They will despatch to the South for a £5 or free if you have a Northen Irish address. See below

    http://www.intershoot.co.uk/acatalog/Air_Pellets.html

Outside of that Blackpool Air Rifles are excellent :

    http://www.airgunbuyer.com/Showproducts.asp?cat=Pellets&SubCat=Pellets

Ideally if you are over in the UK or have someone travelling back and forth it is worth getting someone to pick them upf for you.

Worth giving ebay a try for the good quality pellet brands as you might be lucky and stumble upon a stock clearance sale.

Don't forget that air rifle pellets are classed as live ammunition in the republic afaik, if someone gets stopped in custom with them and without a licence they are going to be in trouble.

    Lads,

Has anyone been to Abbey Field Farm in Clane ? Wonder would they let you target shoot with own gun and ammo ?

There is a guy in maguiresbridge in fermanagh (norman harpur) he has a web site to, he will send you pellets in the post aswell. But i hear there is a pellet assortment pack you can buy like 10 or 20 brands with 10 or 20 pellets in each that way you find out what your gun likes without having several tins with only 20 or 30 pellets gone out of each like what i had:mad:

    Hey lads.
Just thought the following would interest someone.
I buy air gunner magazine, and before xmas I emailed the editor just to suggest that at some point he include some irish related article.
Well my email made it into the magazine and the editor replied that he'd be interested and if there was any shooters here in the republic willing to submit material or being a correspondent to contact him.
