VB6 to VB.NET

Trying to clean up some code and I am stumped with 2 conversions.
Anyone any suggestions pls.

DATE_END is a string field



GETITEMSTRING
Dim sCategory as string = VB6.GetItemString(cboAllocationCategory, i)

Just type the stuff into google and be stumped no longer:
http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/system.string.format.aspx Yes this is in c#, but it shows the .net stuff you need.

What was the old control and what is the new control? Probably just need to access the property. edit: Ah combobox... So just go blah = combobox1.column(0) or whatever. See reference for combobox.

Get used to doing this: highlight whatever object in visual studio -> press f1 to access relevant msdn documentation.
