I have a powerful PC and a low powered silent HTPC both on gigabit lan.

What options do I have to run games on the PC with gamepad, but see the output on the TV without using a really long HDMI cable going across the room.

Are wireless audio / video senders any good? Or could it be achieved by streaming the video from the PC to the HTPC? Would gigabit be fast enough for full quality 1080p stream?

There is wireless HDMI but it's expensive and not too practical at the moment.

The only way I could think is using a VNC but it'd more that likely be choppy and no where near original quality. There may be other solutions that I'm not aware of

Can vlc capture your screen for streaming?
