Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Fulham were so awful.

the lads beat what was in front of them though, and that's a nice change.

    well done.

Swap Joe Allen and passing stats for more direct football and goals = profit

Big result for Pool and food for thought for B Rod.

Just a note on Allen and Sterling getting a run out today. Rodgers has quite a bit of trust in the sports scientists in his backup team and I've no doubt they have done their homework on these things. Simply put, active rest is often more effective than simply doing nothing in terms of aiding the regenerative processes. Just as an example Michael Phelps might swim more in the cooldown period after an Olympic final (even early in the program with multiple events still to come) than he would to warm up for the final. Rest and recovery has become an important science in sport and it involves a lot more than simply sitting on your arse.

Very happy with that. Good result, good performance. Gerrard, Enrique, and Downing all played well which was nice to see. Up to 8th, 5points off 3rd, not bad. More of this please

happy with the result, that was how it should have gone agaiant villa, early goal makes a huge difference. On another note - Berbatov , what a disgrace, lazy, not interested etc - I know he has always been like that but I feel for the Fulham fans paying in to games to see that attitude.

Reina: Did okay, didn't have much to do. One or two dodgy moments.

Johnson: Excellent again. One of our best players this season.

Skrtel: Great finish for the goal, solid throughout.

Agger: Missed an absolute sitter. Could have been more significant on another day. Defensively solid though.

Enrique: Excellent. One of the best left backs in the league when he's on form. He has great vision. Unfortunately, his legs can't do what his brain wants at times. Gay.

Lucas: Did okay. Kept it simple.

Gerrard: Had a good game. Think that's 3 assists and 2 goals in his last three games. Still has alot to offer.

Shelvey: Pretty poor. Blows hot and cold. Only thing about him is, he can play sh1t for a whole game and come up with a goal. His pressing is pretty poor. Still better than Gerrard in that attacking midfielder slot though.

Suso: Didn't offer alot. Not playing in his best position. Will go on to be a very good number 10. Should have had a goal as well. Can't start on the wing on a regular basis if we have aspirations of finishing fourth. His assist and goal record just aren't good enough. We need to strengthen in this department.

Downing: Excellent. Man of the match. Does it make up for the puke performances of the last year. Probably not. Does he return a goal and assist rate of a £20,000,000 player? No. Does he return a goal and assist rate of a £80,000 per week player? No. I would move him on if we are offered in or around £10m.

Suarez: Didn't think it was his best game. Should have had one or two more before he got his goal. We need another striker to share the goal scoring burden.

Sterling: The role he played today is the role he should be playing for every game. Too young to be starting every game. Need more wingers to lift the pressure on his young shoulders. Steady.

Allen: Did okay, the rest should do him good. The reality is, he's not quite Xabi Alonso, he's not as sh1t as some are making out. He's somewhere in between that.

    Carragher: Excellent :P

The key to today's win is not to get carried away. The same applies to last weeks game after the loss. It's important to look at the squad and realise what we're capable of. I think the current squad are capable of a top 7 finish. Unfortunately, our attack isn't anywhere near strong enough to be considered top 4 contenders.
