US and European Micro USB?

    I realise this isnt exactly an android issue but i said id try anyway.

    A friend of mine bought me a Micro USB - HDMI cable for my S3 while he was in the states. Just tried it out, the USB connection wont fit into the phone. I didnt realise there was a difference between the regions, is there anything that can be done to get it working?

    Just realised the cable is micro HDMI not micro USB, no use to me :(
