All the grey black and white is soo drab, is there any way of adding a theme or some colour to liven it up a bit, like adding a theme to gmail.

I've tried a few of the 'skins' but they just give me a jukebox thingy which I dont really want.

That isn't skinned, that's just in playlist view [Ctrl + L]. To start VLC in skinned mode, you have to use a switch -Iskins. If you don't have a VLC media player skinned shortcut in your Start menu, put this as the target:
    "C:\Program Files\VideoLAN\VLC\vlc.exe" -Iskins

Hi EarthlyPangaea and thanks for your reply,

I know the screenshot above is not skinned, I was just using it as an example of what I want but to colour it a bit.

    Using skins I get this

Anyway think I've made a bit of a boo boo:D in so far as I "assumed" that vlc can rip and burn songs like wmp. Apparently it can't. Well not very easily anyway.

think I'll start a new thread!

    Ah, right.

The native interface isn't a skin, there isn't an easy way to customise it. VLC isn't much of a CD ripper either, there are many other specialised and better programs for that.
