Absolutily packed down there this morning and the craic was as mighty as ever, my most enjoyable one yet. Of course the oldies will give out about it being 'their tradition' and the shaking buckets, but regardless of that it was still great fun.

It seems to get busier by the year, helped with the clear skies this morning. It's nice to see everyone laughing and joking, family morning out where even the dog is welcome! (provided their sh1te is cleaned up)

    From Connacht Tribune facebook page:

Swimmers at the annual Christmas Day swim in aid of COPE Galway set a new world record this morning for the most swimmers in Santa hats. A total of 1,066 people took part.

My neighbour did it and raised nearly €500 for COPE. Well done to all involved!

was unreal. ridiculously packed. Think the mild weather played a huge part in that.

    Was F*cking FREEZING in there!

Best year for a long time. Brilliant banter and fun. Without doubt one of the best traditions of Christmas. Water quite mild this year too but still shocking!

Random question but was that an RNLI or Civil Defence boat out on the water?
