    Hi All,
I have a problem with Plantar Faciitis and need footwear that has good arch and heel support. I want to do as much walking as I can and plan to cover general ground: some grass, some sand and some roads.

Can anyone recommend a make or model of boot or shoe with the best support? Waterproof would be a bonus.

    Thanks for reading.

You are much better seeing a specialist and probably getting orthotic insoles than lookign for medical advice on here.

Not really looking for medical advice. I have orthotic insoles already. I was looking for a recommendation for boots or shoes that provide the best support, to back up the insoles.

I have found out that the better the shoes, the more benefit I get from the insoles. All I was looking for was an input from people with experience of using boots or shoes for cross country walking.

Go to one of the Ecco shops.

Their boots and shoes come with insoles that can be removed and replaced with your own orthotic.

    Gortex is waterproof.

I've a long narrow foot with fallen arches and I've been wearing an Anatom boot for a couple of weeks now, best 120 euro I spent :D

The Q2 is full grain leather and is quite waterproof. They make narrow and standard fits.

I'd go to somewhere like great outdoors and try on their shoes with your insole to get an idea of what suits.
