Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

After last weeks acclaimed thread which inspired Stuart Downing to scale new
heights for Liverpool I thought I better start this!

The question is can Stu do it on a wet Wednesday night at the Britannia? :pac: Can Liverpool for that matter, its usually been a dismal date for the away side having won once since Pulis side was promoted (Suarez double Oct 2011), they are on a 15 match unbeaten run at home averaging 1.0 goal per game while Liverpool are impossible to second guess home or away but average 1.6 goals away. Stoke are ancient with a squad average age of 28.6 so hopefully the limbs will start to creak in the chilly damp late on!

Stoke are missing Delap and Wilson, for Liverpool Kelly, Assaidi and Borini are absent. Howard Webb is in the middle.

It'll be a good game, Pool to nick it

    Stoke for me.

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,438 ✭✭✭livinginkorea

Pretty late game so hope the effects of the Turkey and pudding will have worn off.

3-1 to the pool. Downing to continue his run of form, Suarez to score, with Johno and Enrique to tear the sides up.

Scoreless draw, Stoke are impenetrable at home. Tough away for liverpool.

It'd be nice if a ref actually refs stoke properly for once. They are the worst refereed team in the league. Constantly getting away with **** that nobody else does. I hate them.

The league would be better if they went out of business.

    Win for Stoke.

Also expect some retribution from Suarez on Huth for the stamp during the last meeting, so maybe a red for Suarez.

I doubt it to be honest. It wasn't much of a stamp. Rodgers will be telling Suarez to get any payback by making a fool of Huth rather than biting him or kicking him in the face.

    Quietly confident.

    3 points to Liverpool.

Score draw/possibly Liverpool to sneak it 1-0.

Going to be a boring game to watch.

Not as boring as Chrimbo telly.

    1-1 , Crouch and Suarez

Can't see better than a draw unfortunately, and could be an uncomfortable defeat also.

    Stoke 1-1 Liverpool (Huth, Shelvey)

don't think Skrtel ever really deals well with Crouchy so going for a score draw, which wouldn't be a bad result really

10-0 Stoke with Suarez being sent off twice and Shelvey to announce his retirement to host a remake of The Crystal Maze and swan off in a leopard skin jacket.

Can't see us getting much here. Would take a draw now

Guy from Radio Merseyside saying we will be unchanged. Surprised to see Suso starting against Stoke.

@Petermcdowall10: Hearing #LFC will be unchanged.

This is a must win for us, don't care how it happens, it's a tough fixture, just need the three points.

Large bet on over 40 points(cards) need 5 yellows or 3 yellows and a red. Do your thing Stoke and Suarez.

I have a tenner on a player almost being killed by a ball, small odds considering the abundance of these instances!

Ive a feeling it'll be a score draw, prob 1-1 but I'm hoping that we beat Stoke. If the line up is true I'd love Suso and Suarez to score

I see Liverpool scoring 5 or 6 goals tonight :D getting the goal difference up and goals from S,S and S to show the incoming S how it's done :p

Same starting team confirmed - Reina, Johnson, Enrique, Skrtel, Agger, Lucas, Gerrard, Shelvey, Suso, Downing, Suarez.

Joe Cole makes the bench over Sahin!

    Srijandeep Das ‏@jeremy_LFC
Subs: Jones, Carragher, Coates, Henderson, Allen, Cole, Sterling.

Allen is a rat. Shelvey is a lick arse.

Glad to see Allen out of the team again. Looked a better team without him.

However, I'd be shocked if Stoke give us as much time on the ball !!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 28,397 ✭✭✭✭Turtyturd

    Uggghh....Shelvey.

I can see Liverpool having a lot of problems from set pieces tonight. Not sure how much of an impact Suso is likely to have in a game like this either.

No point playing him when he's not being used in his correct position in fairness.

He'll be gone in Jan I reckon, Rodgers doesn't know how to use him

Would that not be anything to do with being pretty poor in any appearances he has made so far?

Rodgers was playing him in an advanced role, a role alien to Sahin. He said it himself.

Adding my voice to the "I hate Stoke" brigade.

And Pewliss. Not normally a violent man but I'd pound that ****ers face to a pulp without thinking twice about it. And then shoot him. And then burn him. And then piss on his ashes.

That said I think they'll beat us 1-0 in what turns out to be the worst game in the history of football.

I'm really not looking forward to this game. I'll watch it tho.

I can't believe Shelvey is starting again. WTF?

Sahin must have taken a crayon to that picture of Rodgers hanging in his house or something.

I wouldn't play Joe Cole either in case his hamstring went again and he wouldn't be recovered till 12;01am on the first of Feb. and he missed the a transfer window move.
