How much rain in 2012

Hey folks,

Just a quick one for you..... Myself and my wife were talking about how crap the weather has been....

Would anyone have anyi idea how much rainfall we have had this year, and has it rained for more days this year than usual...

Is there anywhere we can get stats on this our would anyone have this info to hand....

Met Eireann's own site is the biz, yes a bit complex and unfriendly, but it does have all the data and whilst this year is not compiled yet, it's trend should be there.

Take your time with the site, it's not awe inspiring, but it's where the official data comes from.

Hey mel b, the station closest to us is johnson castle and rainfall is up from 819.9 in 2011 to 1162.2 so far in 2012....

That is a huge increase of over 30% on the previous year..... What its the comparison on your area?

My own area is still within the mean as per rainfall but is approx 20% higher than last year.

I've seen 1230.3 on a weather station close to Lough Ree. River Shannon in Athlone is at a very high level would say another few weeks of rain will see it close to 2009 levels.
