Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Arsenal vs Newcastle Utd (Emirates Stadium KO:17:30)

    arsenal-v-newcastle-mb.png
Giroud and Rosicky back for Arsenal and may start today. Newcastle played very well against Utd and took the lead three times only to succumb to last gasp winner. Lengthly injury list for the Magpies though.

Team news to follow when available.

    http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/20823197

    Hoping for an Arsenal win.

    2-0 I reckon.

Newcastle very over priced at 6/1 with Paddy Power. Arsenal in great form but it would be like them to drop points here.

Loving Newcastles new badge by the way :)

Fail Pic :p Arsenal should win with all the injuries Newcastle have.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,080 ✭✭✭DenMan

Fail pic is right. What was I thinking! I'll see if I can fix it! :D

    Woj
    Sagna
    Koscielny----Mertescker
    Gibbs
    Arteta
    Wilshere
    Walcott
    Cazorla
    Podolski
    Giroud

would be my ideal lineup, Vermaelen will certainly play ahead of Koscielny though and I reckon we'll see the worst footballer ever in place of one of Walcott/Giroud.

Wenger already said Walcott will lead the attack in this match.

Newcastle 8/1 in Boyles which is ridiculous. Not confident at all for this one. Arsenal dont perform in these late kick offs. Hopefully Giroud starts.

Felling abit nervous about this one, think Newcastle will be all fired up after the United loss, but still ill go with a 3-1 win for Arsenal fcuk it :).

    Where did you hear that?

I reckon if he played giroud and Walcott up front together it might work well but I just can't see Walcott ever making it as a lone striker.

    Arsenal to win 3 -- 1.
We have to win this one as we trail Spurs by 6 points. No fcuk-ups today. Straight into them and no mercy.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,572 ✭✭✭TheGunns

Starting line up announced, Walcott is in there. Hope Giroud comes on for some goals, much prefer him to walcott. Ideally both of them would play up front together

Think we'll win but purely because Newkie are missing Cabaye and Ben Arfa. Gonna go for 2-1 clinging on. Ba/Cisse to score.

    Teams:

Newcastle team: Krul, Simpson, Perch, Coloccini, Santon, Bigirimana, Tiote, Cisse, Marveaux, Obertan, Ba.

    Subs: dunno

Arsenal team: Arsenal: Szczesny, Sagna, Koscielny, Vermaelen, Gibbs, Arteta, Wilshere, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Cazorla, Podolski, Walcott

Subs: Mannone, Djourou, Ramsey, Coquelin, Rosicky, Gervinho, Giroud.

Sorry about Newcastle subs, if I printed what Arseblog had there I'd get an infraction :D

The BBC are saying it is hammering rain down at the Emirates right now. Hope it won't be too much of a problem for the players.

Is Mert injured? He would have been useful to combat their strength in the air. We have absolutely no height in our team today.

Commentator is gonna drive me mad

Everything Arsenal do will be considered bad and any basics Newcastle get right will be considered amazing.

Krul is timewasting already it seems

It's quite a bit worse when you have to pay for the new one yourself though.

Oxo is poor so far. Didn't even chase that and is constantly giving possession away. Needs to buck up.
Our height or lack of it nearly cost us from that corner.

1 corner in 17 mins... sorted it out!

Ba is doing OK on his interview today. I hope he doesn't go overboard and score against a big time club.
