Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Jelavic looks sickened.

Not for the first time, Torres has just jogged along side the CB when the opportunity was there to put himself in acres of space with no one to beat, wtf is up with him.

Frustrating that Everton didn't take their chances

Chelsea to win it for me, maybe late on in the game from the bench. All the teams with bigger squads won yesterday, with strong second half showings when opponents showed the fatigue of playing games in short succession.

    1-2

    Fairly accurate.

    good win that

Thats been a good defensive show from us for the 3points.

Everton beey rarely lose at home, a drsw was probably the fair result but the superior quality shone through.

    Never in doubt. :D

Outstanding result after first 30 minutes and losing Cech at half time.

So erm... what about QPR - Liverpool ?

    Purely for financial reasons :D

Great resilience shown by Chelsea, brilliant result for them (first team to win at Everton this season).

    That's a massive win.

Win-win for Lamps. All the pressure's on Chelsea in terms of his contract; if they don't sort it out, these displays are going to put zeros on his wages elsewhere.

    Brilliant result.

Lampard could be the most important signing of this window for chelsea

    Attacking threat and effort= 100
    Torres = 0

Huge 3 points, that was a real Rafa style team there and you have to say that the interim manager is really impressing.

Fair play to Ramires, really came into the game after than awkward opening and is prob my MOTM pick.

Add Demba Ba to that side and suddenly we do look like a really threatening prospect.

helsea become the first team to win at Everton since Arsenal in March. They may have hit Aston Villa for eight recently, but this is the best win of Rafa Benitez's Stamford Bridge reign so far. It extends the Spaniard's impressive record against the Toffees. He has only lost one of his last eight games against them, stretching back to his Liverpool days.

having to listen to jamie redknapp and ray wilkins talk about frank lampard is excruciating...

To be fair, after scoring goals and winning matches for more than a decade.....is he not the one man on the pitch today deserving of some plaudits?

He scored two goals and won them the game.

Delighted for Rafa, he gets way too much stick from people who think they know what they are talking about.
Top manager who was fighting the owners at Liverpool aswell as trying to do his day to day managerial job, what he done there with those two tossers as owners was fantastic imho.

One is his cousin, the other his former assistant manager (and obviously good friend). The discussion will only ever go one way.

Personally I'm a bit torn on it. He adds invaluable experience, he still pops up with the odd vital goal and he is a decent option in that midfield two. He is a Chelsea legend.

However he is 34 and it's clear he won't be a regular starter anymore, whether he can accept that like Scholes and Giggs have nobody knows except those that work with him on a daily basis. And for a squad player the wages are huge and there might be younger players who better suit the style we are trying to implement to spend that money on.

oh yeah, im not claiming that the plaudits hes receiving are not deserved.

but as the post above says, ones his cousin and the other a chelsea fan and friend. and they dont even try to be impartial.

Everton need a new striker if they are to challenge for 4th. Should have won today if Jelavic done his job.
