HTC Windows Phone 8s Screen

Just a question about the display. On my phone there is a 1 pixel in width strip down the left hand side of the screen that displays what is about to appear on the next screen to the right

Is this the same with all of them?

had to take the picture with a camera...it wasn't showing up on the screenshot

you can see the blue boxes on the left and right. Should the left ones be there?

you can half see text at the top, it's like it's zoomed in/out too far,can you pinch back/forward a little. That is defo not right, OP

I think that was due to me scrolling down the screen a bit. i checked that out and its grand. I dont know what is up with it! Only have it a couple of days!

It wont let me zoom in or out on that screen...but it is the same on every app/screen

That's the windows phone "style" - its there to indicate that there is more content to scroll to. In this case its emphasising more that you can scroll right, but there's also still content available to the left. That's also why banner text appears "cut off" - its to provide the hint to scroll across without having to put in arrows or additional text or graphics.

its a bit of a marmite thing admittedly. Works for me though!

So that 1 pixel strip is an actual thing?? :O Is there any way to stop it? Like the strip is showing what is coming up to the right...i wouldnt really mind if it was showing what's to the left...I think it just looks a mess :P

Hang on, just checked my own lumia 920 and i don't have the thin strip down the left in the same page in the People hub. Otherwise its identical. I can imagine it does look a bit messy on yours! This might be something unique to HTC's new phones? I know the new 8x has a slightly unusual screen resolution which might cause this sort of thing, but i thought the 8s had a standard resolution? You might need to refer to one of the more techy specialist windows phone forums, eg wpcentral.com I've found them good for this kind of thing.

I got on to HTC and had to do a factory reset...that cleared it all up!
