Hopefully someone will swap with you.

If not, I'm willing to step in.

Sorry, juke - I forgot to thank you for your kind offer.

Many thanks, but we try to stick with posters scheduled so they still have a chance to post. Be sure to get your name on next year's list. :)

    Early December, usually :)

Is it terribly sad that I already have a dish in mind?

I envy you. I want to contribute something to the forum as a way of giving something back, but every time I think of something, I realise I would be re-hashing something that's already here.

It's perfectly ok to do your own version of a dish that has already been done, just so long as it's not a carbon copy, and is sufficiently different.

Yeah I really want to sign up for next year but pretty much all the nice stuff I cook is robbed straight from here :D I'll come up with something though :)

I am so signing up again. :) I love the whole experience. On my list of things to make soon are the epic lasagne and the vindaloo :D

If there's somebody who really wants to do it this year, I don't mind giving up my spot seeing as I've already posted a recipe this year. If that's not possible then I'll go ahead and find another one to post but I just thought I'd throw it out there.

    Hi all,

I'm due to post my contribution next Friday (1st November) but have been scheduled for a last minute overseas trip and I have to leave on Monday. Is there any chance someone can swap with me (I'll be back on 17th November) or else can someone take my place?

So sorry - my job is kind hectic at the moment and I can't get out of this trip.
Hi homemadecider. TeletextPear has kindly offered to swap weeks with you.

Your new date for posting is now 15/11/2013 (Week 45).

    tHB

I'm being a total back seat moderator here so feel free to wing the lid off your heaviest Le Creuset at me but, just in case my sherlock like theory is right, homemadecider might not see your post because she's not back till a couple of days after her new posting date and (based upon stalking her posts) when she's abroad with work she's off the grid a bit with internet access.

Greetings from Mozambique! I have internet access today so just saw this. I will actually be back on the 11th (plans change a lot in my line of work) so I can do the slot on the 15th.

Thanks so much to all who organised the switch, really appreciate it!

PS Not to gloat or anything but it is 37 DEGREES AND I AM IN A TSHIRT.

Come visit! I'm only across the water.

Loving the cooking club. I'm living in Africa so I have no choice to cook everything from scratch. When I eventually move back to Ireland I'll want to give back!

I love seeing people come out of the woodwork saying they're fans of the cooking club. It really makes it all feel worthwhile :).

I'll be honest...I haven't cooked many of the recipes yet... But the main reason I come in here is for the pictures. Food porn :o

I'm pretty much the same. I wait 10-15 mins for the pics to load (crap internet over here).

Faith (and all the other mods), it doesn't get said enough but you guys do an amazing job and thanks so much. Ye've made the cooking club what it is!

I just posted my recipe. It's a bit early but I probably won't get a chance to do it tonight or tomorrow.

I probably wasn't that far from you, relatively speaking... I was in Chimoio is which looks about a day's drive from the Malawi border. Back in Maputo now though, unfortunately no time to come and see you! Will try to conjure up a trip to Malawi next year!

Back in ireland - ok if I post the recipe either on Friday night/ Sat morning? It will be Friday night's dinner I'll be posting if that's ok? If that's a problem let me know and I can try to do something on Thursday.

Ooh, I'm next week. Better do some shopping. :)

Sorry for asking here (not sure where else to do it) but are the last few weeks not taken intentionally or have the spaces just not been filled by boardsies?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 22,799 ✭✭✭✭The Hill Billy

People tend to be busy in the lead up to Christmas, so we don't run the club on those few weeks.

I see that The Cooking Club is finished for this year.

A big, BIG "THANKS!" to all of the contributors & to all who gave them a try & provided feedback on the recipes. Without you - there is no club.

Also, a big shout out to Faith & BaZmO* for all of the set-up, scheduling, PMs & the rest. Without you - there is no club also.

The Mod Team will be in touch soon about plans for next year.

    Happy cooking folks!

    The F&D Mod Team

Thanks a million to the mods, I don't participate much but it's one of my favourite forums, love it! Roll on more yumminess in 2014 :D

Well I have completely leaned away from the Club over the past month or so and all down to the fact that I've enjoyed it a bit too much.

I've taken to Slimming World and it's given me a new found perspective for my food to the tune of still enjoying my food but knowing what doesnt contribute to the hips but still tingles the lips.

Sooooooooooo, I am going to put myself into the breach for next year and already have what I am going to cook picked out. (may even document during the festive break)

Happy Christmas folks ! Already looking forward to next year :)
