Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Does anyone else here sort of have 2 teams? LIke one for the AFC and one for the NFC. I'd consider myself 60% Ravens fan and 40% Cowboys fan. Works great too because it's 4 years until their next regular season meeting.

Not really. I kinda like the Vikings, and don't mind Denver too bad. Other than that not really.

Let this be a lesson. Playoffs should be a ginger-free zone.

How many steps to they have to take before it counts as a catch?

Looks like a difference in class between the sides so far even if Houston are a bit blunt.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 9,287 ✭✭✭davyjose

Very lucky not to be picked off. Dalton's having a shocker. Terrible throw. If you're going to throw that, it's gotta go past the secondary -- hit the receiver, or incomplete.

Gotta hold possession through the play. Which means he's gotta have possession when he hits the ground.

    Another pick. Another bad throw.

Bengals with -17 yards passing and are winning by 1. If the offense gets going they will be extremely disappointed not to win the game. Big if though.

Dalton has -8 yards and his team currenly holds the lead. Brilliant!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,306 ✭✭✭padraig_f

Dalton's not the problem for the Bengals so far, it's his pass protection which is having the problems.

And throwing an interception at the line of scrimmage like Schaub just did is much, much worse than throwing one 40 yards down the field.

Such a one-sided game everywhere but the scoreboard. Not all that comforting given i've a bet on the texans :-)

    Maulauga's getting absolutely destroyed.

Ouch that should have been a TD !

In fairness it's pretty ridiculous to get angry at Dalton even if that INT stands. It was third and long and the ball moved 53 yards downfield. The equivalent of an incompletion and a huge punt, which is what it turned out like.

Houston's inability to score TDs is shocking. It's almost Jets bad.

That's true. It just wasn't a great throw.

Dalton should just forget Gresham is on the field right about now.

Crazy not to attempt a 58 harder there.

    Yeah, indoors as well.

Not a lot of quality overall in that half. Bengals lucky to be only 2 down.

Ponder's warmup left many questions. Didn't stay out there long at all.

Didn't know that. Who's their backup?

Edit: ponder out, Joe Webb is in. Wow!

    Poor Bungles.

They badly need something on this drive. I'd agree with Neil Reynolds that they simply need to throw one or two balls up to AJ Green

Don't think the Vikes game plan changes at all tbh. AD was always gonna be the offence although Ponder was looking better the last few weeks.

The key for the Vikes is their defence especially the pass rush. Get at Rodgers early, get him rattled and give AD the ball, Ponder or no.

Dalton must have hands like Catcher's mitts.

Ponder was vital to last week's win. One would imagine the game plan last week would be the same as tonight's. AD will obviously take most of the snaps, but he's going to have to find extra-beast-mode tonight. If he doesn't run 200 yards at least, this'll be a landslide IMO.

So, when do Houston decide that Schaub's not their guy to win a Super Bowl?

  • Moderators, Sports Moderators Posts: 5,015 Mod ✭✭✭✭GoldFour4

Whos the third string QB in Cincinatti ? Could be very important !

When they start losing the game, maybe.

This Bengals offense is painful to watch.

Guy must've meant Minnesota. It's McLeod Bethel-Thompson. Absolute nobody.

    Green looked bad there though.

For the late game, I think Webb makes it more interesting. He seems to be more of a playmaker than Ponder.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,376 ✭✭✭Anyone

Why do I get the feeling the Bengals are going to score a touchdown to feck up my -3.5 bet.

Losing your starting QB hours before a Playoff game is always bad for a team but given the fact that Ponder was arguably the worst starting QB in the league for much of the season (OK...second worst behind Sanchez!) you'd have to say that losing him isnt a huge loss. With the exception of last weekend against Green Bay when was he productive? Webb will give the Vikings an extra dimension with a mobile QB but it will be crucial that he makes some plays early

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 28,710 ✭✭✭✭Paully D

0/7 on 3rd down conversions. Jesus wept.

Don't know what to think about Ponder being out. 70% of me says it's bad. You think the Vikings didn't pass the ball much before? It'll be nearly all runs now, be it Peterson or Webb. Webb can put bombs on the money to be fair, it's just his accuracy is incredibly inconsistent.

However, I was fairly certain that after 2 games, Dom Capers would have figured this offence out. Webb changes things completely. He is a phenomenal athlete. I can't think of a better scrambling QB in the league bar maybe RG3, and that's only when he's let free. Webb could be a serious trump card tonight. And Green Bay were putting 9 men in the box anyway. so not like things will change on that respect. Perhaps on a cold night with bad throwing conditions, this could be a good thing. Still not happy however
