Have a feeling the Patriots may blow out the Texans too. We were given too much last night :)

have some of that Sherman you ****ing mouthpiece

Damn it, I drastically overslept. Quick summary anyone? Thanks.

Bad Ryan INT, great strip tackle by Witherspoon on Lynch, Sherman has defended a few passes, Falcons playing much better overall!

Don't argue with not taking the FG. 20-3 is not much better than 20-0.

Eh what?! It would have been 13-3!

it would have been 13-3 with sea hawks getting ball first in second half. a stop and a two min drive they could have been 13-10 or 13-6 at the half.

    terrible call

Not necessarily. It doesnt always work that way.

Very impressed with Matt Ryan since his Godawful pick*. Looking like he did early in the season.

*Tony Gonzalez isn't entirely without blame either though. Clearly did not complete his route.

A FG is still a win for the defense and maintains momentum.

Its a funny one. Just like last night, I couldn't shout for either team. I know that a home playoff game is better but when the game was over and the Ravens had beaten Denver on the road I then would have preferred the Broncos in the next round if we make it. Just because they were worse than the Ravens.

Yeah, looks like atlanta now anyway. Would have loved another 49ers seahawks game though.

How do you have that logic?!

I personally do think more teams should go for it on 4th. But you can't say the next Falcon's drive would have been identical.

not anywhere close to the momentum shift of a stop.

Because the ATL offense took over in worse field position than a kickoff would've given and they scored a TD.

If Seattle score here they'll have a shot

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 28,710 ✭✭✭✭Paully D

This one might not be over yet. Seahawks get the ball back to start the second half.

That's an assumption your making, no guarantee that from the kick off there would have been a touchback or the return guy would get out past the 12, never mind them definately going down and scoring a TD!

Anything other than a Seattle TD here and it's over.

I could live without a third intra-divisional game. I like seeing teams play big playoffs game who haven't met much.

Also, if Atlanta play like they have done today, it'll be a great match-up.

It's almost certain they would've started past the 12, and if we're trying to judge what would happen, what actually happened is something to go by.

    ANOTHER HUGE stop

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 28,710 ✭✭✭✭Paully D

That was such a horribly managed series down in the red zone by Seattle.

Crazy finish there. Atlanta look damn good.

you cant judge its totally different scenario.

    Thought the same as well!

Tell you what, that may just be a sneaky little tactic when you're 3rd and goal with the clock ticking down and no timeouts. Let your QB take the sack on 3rd, but have everyone ready to jump up and snap it for a 4th and goal shot while the other team celebrates. Rice was in there, if the snap had been a half second quicker.

im not sure there wasnt a false start there if they did get it off on time anyway aswell as an illegal shift penalty. need to see again

Hope the falcons run up 50, and give Carroll a taste of his own medicine.

Incidentally, for those who are into this kinda ****e, Old Moore's Almanack predicted the Falcons would win the Super Bowl this year.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,369 ✭✭✭UnitedIrishman

    Well this game is done.

Can't see the Falcons being as prolific against the 49ers next week despite their impressive display here.

    Mike Pereira ‏@MikePereira
If there was still time on the clock they weren't set which would have been illegal formation which would have been a :10 runoff.

    Mike Pereira ‏@MikePereira
Correction: They weren't set & that creates a false start which would have been a :10 runoff. Illegal formation does not create a :10 runoff

Mike Perrera just confirmed what I thought they werent set would have been a false start penalty anyway, pretty sure there was an illegal shift from Rice asell tbh

Just threw a tenner on the Seahawks at 45/4. Funny feeling about the Falcons.

If ever i wouldn't trust a team with a 20 point lead it's them. Though i struggle to see it.

Good job there by Wilson. Now the D have to step and get the ball back without giving up points and its game on.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 15,172 ✭✭✭✭kmart6

What a difference this could be now if they took that FG!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,879 ✭✭✭D3PO

those two missed fieldgoial chances now huge 20 - 13 versus 20-7 could really bite them in the ass by the time this is over

Pathetic tackling from the Falcons there. I hate this leading with the shoulder crap, Tate would have been downed at the five if he had wrapped him up.

Perfect drive from Atlanta. Winding down the clock and should end up with at least a field goal here.

    Too easy

the Seattle D wont be able to stand by the end of this. The time of possession the Falcons have had is huge for this point in the game. Seattle must be nearly out on their feet

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 9,287 ✭✭✭davyjose

Matt Ryan deserves a lot of credit. He picked himself up after that Interception and has been exceptional since.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,299 ✭✭✭spiralism

Seattle should try an onside kick if they score here. At least make the Falcons work for it

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 28,710 ✭✭✭✭Paully D

Can they not do these presentations after the game or at half time FFS?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 9,287 ✭✭✭davyjose

I hate this Bullsh!t. Just get on with the game. It's a joke. The Super Bowl has been turned at times because of the fcuking half time show. People are here to see the game, not this crap.
