Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Not a great half for fans of defense. I like offense as much as the next guy, but a lot of that was too easy for an NFC Championship game.

If Ryan continues like this he could have one hell of a game. 400 plus yards and 5-6 TDs.

Eh? It's possible he'll retire but it's in no way a sure thing. The way he's been talking about it he's leaving it open for a return, particularly if the Falcons' come close this year.

Lets throw the Eh at you.

    http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2013/01/17/teammate-says-tony-gonzalez-now-97-percent-on-retirement/

3% is an extremely small % for him to return.

No they wouldnt. Your making it out like he was having a pop at Davis he wasnt he was just pumped up and geeing up the troops. Maybe listen to some of the miked up stuff before throwing out something like that.
No I didn't, I said I just found it odd, my opinion, which I am entitled to!

As for watching some mic'd up stuff, I've watched my fair share over ten or so years so don't try to be condensending telling me to watch some! Seen enough to form an opinion, many times you'll see someone who is mic'd up trying rally the troops and guys just staring ahead blanking them completely!

Well he has said himself that this is his last year, so i'd imagine that he's planned his retirement.

He said he's 95% certain to go.

Yeah, that's what I mean. If the Falcons' made the Superbowl and lost I have to imagine he'd be very tempted to suit up for a swansong though, especially given this is his first taste of post-season success.

A Falcons' Superbowl win and you can start penciling Tony G for induction to the HoF in five years' time.

Davis going keep being the key the man on offence here the falcons just cant defend the slants from tight end.

Expecting the same from Hernandez tonight really should expose the ravens down the middle

open 2nd halfd, 49ers defence probably needs a big play.

Féck that, Ring or no Ring Tony G has to go to the HoF.

And thats coming from a Tampa fan! :P

Seen too many times what the man can do.

Yeah, of course..! I meant that if they win the big one he wouldn't be able to resist exiting stage left at the pinnacle of his career, not that he'd need a ring for immediate induction. What he's doing is many times more impressive to me than Gronk or Graham, this is a guy who is 36 years old and still cutting up defences from one of the most physical positions in the sport. He is a living legend.

If it's a choice between him and Ray going out on top I'd chose Tony G every time, at least 52 has a ring in his back pocket. Tony suffered through so many years of pathetic post-season play that if anyone deserves to win one it's him.

First turnover is going to be key here

Sf need to get a TD on the first drive in the 2nd to keep falcons on edge

It's actually not grammer so you can leave it out!

I keep forgetting Randy is a 49er. Wouldn't it be something if he won a ring at the expense of Brady?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,376 ✭✭✭Anyone

I'd give Erin Andrews the good lovin'

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,299 ✭✭✭spiralism

First offensive turnover will decide this imo. Atlanta can't even do the basics defensively while Ryan and co are just **** hot. First team to blink will put the other in a commanding position

Going to presume you know of the stalking/video incident, but if not you might want to Google it!;)

    Where is teh DFence???

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,299 ✭✭✭spiralism

Atlanta's defense is absolutely pathetic. Niners marched down with impunity

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 38,971 ✭✭✭✭eagle eye

That was a good drive but just a little too easy just like the first half. There is just no defense in this game.

Lets see now if Matt Ryan can continue with his impressive performance.

Ryan's playing well but imo if i had to guess one offence turns it over it's Atlanta, their scores are harder come by while the Niners are pissing all over them. Never know though

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,879 ✭✭✭D3PO

    Neither defense can do anything.

First turnover as said will be key. Or maybe even just a holding penalty on one of the offences.

Id still take the niners they have a better defence if they can just get it going.

Wasted timeout there, could come back to bite them in the arse..

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 5,139 ✭✭✭Red Crow

    Wow bad throw.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,879 ✭✭✭D3PO

and that might just be the critical play of the game

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,299 ✭✭✭spiralism

Ryan after turning the entire game on its head there. Niners have to be favoured from here on in.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 15,172 ✭✭✭✭kmart6

Yikes, that could be very costly!

Good work Kmart, you're training up the next generation of stalkers

Atlanta back to their old habits. Not looking a bit like they belong here now.

What are the chances that Akers is a 49er next season?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,879 ✭✭✭D3PO

Im a huge Akers fan being an Eagle but this season hes been a donkey.

Thats as good as a turnover in this game.

Akers has been so poor, shocked 49ers didn't get Kaeding when he was free.

At the rate Akers is missing kicks they be just better off going for it on 4th down.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 9,287 ✭✭✭davyjose

Ryan off the hook there. This still has the look of a niners win though.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,966 ✭✭✭Syferus

I feel sorry for Akers. He can probably start clearing out his apartment in San Fran.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,879 ✭✭✭D3PO

about the same as Tebow being a Jet

  • Registered Users Posts: 209 ✭✭theRB

Starting to look to me like Kaepernick will outlast Ryan here.

Did they have a mic on the post? One more miss and he breaks the record for most misses!

Not sure if Kaeding for a crucial playoff game is the best idea either...that Jets game irreperably damaged his reputation. Cundiff with a stronger leg imo. Akers looks done though.

Classy stuff by Samuel, great way to show respect for your ex-team-mate. Football doesn't need that sort of crap.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,317 ✭✭✭HigginsJ

Things are bad for David Akers when they bring in Billy Cundiff for competition!!

Have to have, was way too loud to be no mic over the noise of the crowd!
