Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I love the audible out of the punt. Mind games galore with BB :)

Patriots are worse than Samuels. Tried to trick the Ravens.

I think its poor much better to have saved it for the second half imo.

Tonight's call is 'flacco going deeeeeep'

Why not call that play in the 3rd qtr? Having timeouts in the first half isn't as big of a deal then having full timeouts in the second half.

Why'd the Saints kick an onside against the Colts 3 years ago? If it works you're a genius. Burned a timeout too.

Very different. No CBS says they just did it to catch the Ravens to burn a time out. But burning TOs are much more crucial in the second half.

I was thinking that too, but maybe in the small chance the Ravens dont call a TO in that scenario, then they may have actually gone for the 1st down. Could be much too risky in the 3rd?

If you get the offside you get first down. If you don't snap it, its only 5 yards on the punt.

It's more unexpected at the start of the game. Sets the tone for the game, gets the Ravens thinking about trickery at the start AND burns a timeout. Great call.

I seem to be the only person who thinks that was an awful play-call from Payton.

Oh not saying it didn't. That's the point though, people are so results orientated, if it doesn't work people call it the worst call ever.

But considering the situation of the game and the average conversion rate of onside kicks which is around 25% afaik and the fact that if it fails you've given manning outstanding field position. I think it was a totally needless risk.

Baltimore would want to pull the finger out very quick here. Guess this is what happens when they play a team who isnt hopelessly inept against the deep pass.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,386 ✭✭✭✭DDC1990

Féck sake. Tampa gave this guy up for a 6th round pick.

Tampa the worst pass D, threw away a ProBowl level CB for nothing :(

I don't know how, but I'm blaming Bernard fúcking Pollard for this.

My sky box decided to give up for the last 10 minutes. Who got injured.

Talib doesnt come back and it's a worry. Chances are its a ten point margin when Baltimore take the field again anyways but losing a top CB against a team that lives and dies by the deep ball is a big loss. That's providing Flacco doesn't overthrow whoever's there.

Talib looks to have a tight hammy. Pulled up after breaking up a pass on third down.

What's Lewis meant to do when Hernandez lowers his head into the hit?

The Front Door would but you'd have to go at 2.30, before the finish probably

I argued this earlier in the season. It's BS.

Ravens must be very happy to be only 3-0 down because they have done absolutely nothing offensively so far but it's still very close.

Hit him hard then tell him while he is picking himself up to raise his head in future and it wont hurt as much.

    2 bad misses by Ravens

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 9,287 ✭✭✭davyjose

Flacco isn't making those big plays like he was against Indy and Denver. Knew it.

Kyle Arrington in the game for the Pats. Oh boy.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 2,929 ✭✭✭JaMarcus Hustle

Wes is getting in some nice returns today. We really should be getting more points on the board, its frustrating.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 5,139 ✭✭✭Red Crow

That's poor from the Ravens. They won't get away with this all day. Patriots should be up by more.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,954 ✭✭✭counterlock

My girlfriend reacted faster than Dixon on that pass.

    davyjose wrote: »

This one is a tough one as sometimes there is no clear line. Way I look at it both players are responsible for the safety of each other. If an Offensive player keeps lowering his head he can damage himself and the Defensive player. Both of them should be looking to prevent a bad hit. This is why the NFL should be looking at every bad hit case by case properly and not just flinging out fines left right and centre.

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,546 ✭✭✭Masked Man

Neither team should be happy here. Pats should be able to pick up their offence and we're leading so I won't complain.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 9,287 ✭✭✭davyjose

    How was that not picked?
