UCD Rifle Club is pleased to announce that we will hold the UCD New Year's Air Open 2013, on Sunday 6th January 2013 at UCD Rifle Club Range, UCD, Belfield.

This is an open competition for 10 metre Air Rifle and Air Pistol.

Competitions:

• Air Rifle 60 shot
• Air Rifle 40 shot
• Air Pistol 60 shot

Class prizes will also be awarded (based on the first 40 competition shots).

Entry fee: €15 (€10 students/juniors/seniors)

Pre-booking is essential.

Today (Sunday 6th January) saw the first competition of the year, the UCD New Year’s Air Open, take place in the UCD Rifle Club Range. A strong start to the year with a total of 20 competitors taking part over the two details, putting in strong scores in both rifle and pistol.

Caroline O’Brien took first place in the air pistol competition with an impressive score of 551 and a new personal best. John O'Brien and Tomas Jakubauskas were tied after 60 shots on a score of 531 and were separated by inner 10’s, with John edging out Tomas with by one inner 10.

In the 60 shot air rifle competition, Vladimir Untila continues his winning ways taking first place with a score of 573, followed by Paul O’Boyle in second and John Lancaster in third. While in the 40 shot competition Charlotte Cuffe took first place.

Many thanks to everyone who took part in today’s competition and congratulations to all the medal winners. We look forward at seeing you at the next UCD competition, UCD Air Open I 2013, which will take place on Sunday 27th January.
