Complete opposite here, Awful. Windy, wet and mild. Hasnt stopped raining all day.
Wind howling now, an awful awful night. So much for the weather forecast this week saying dry and settled.

Amazing clear area of skies in north Wicklow/East Dublin due to the Dublin/Wicklow Mountains sucking all the moisture out of that moist south westerly wind. The drive from the west on the M4 was excellent for viewing the distant clear slot getting ever closer as I approached Dublin, with the sun breaking through around the Lucan area.

2013 Australian Heat Wave

Hot Weather in NW WA heated the sea off the coast of the Pilbara & Kimberley regions allowing inland temperatures to rise above normal. Being an area that already regularly sees temperatures above 40c at this time of year this meant temperatures hit high forties! Many areas have an average temperature above 40c for this time of year, e.g many of the Iron ore mining towns out there would be like this place:

Winds blew this heat from the tropics across the interior. In Australia, in summer, blowing heat away from the equator doesnt allow it to cool down....the dry landmass actually heats it up with drier conditions preventing evaporation cooling the air and the days get longer as you move out of the tropics, meaning more sunshine. (also bear in mind the earth is physically nearer the sun in the southern hemispheric summer! It moves further away for the Northern Hemispheres summer!!). According to the weather guy on the news the southern interior is extremely dry having had lower than normal winter rainfall. Humidity levels are very low in these areas one example:

After two years of wetter than normal monsoons (which often bring rain to areas outside of the tropics here) vegetation growth means more fuel for fires. Bushfires in Tasmania have likely killed one person already and destroyed most of one town:

Well this is our 5th day of solid rain, it hasnt stopped since last thursday. 13c here to.

The small hill to my immediate south appears to be protecting me from the strengthening wind. Average wind speeds are only about 10 - 15kmh and the highest gust has been below 20kmh.
