Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Hello all

I got a lovely letter from AES the other day saying that their bin charges are gone up.

    Recycling €3 per lift
    Green Bin €9 per lift

When i joined them a little over a year ago the prices were as follows

    Recycling €0 per lift
    Green Bin €7 per lift

As well as the monthly charge of roughly €20 which hasn't changed.

Anyways, I'd love to leave them and find an alternitive way of getting rid of rubbish. Anyone with any ideas. Im in the Tullamore area. 5 miles outside

    Hi,

I'm out near geashill and I pay €60 euro for 3 months. That's it.
They pick up both bins the same week every fortnight.

So you're basically saving all the lifting fees of AES!

Thats still pretty dear. considering up in Dublin you can get the whole lot collected for €99 per year. I know of a pickup truck that drives into our estate and collects black bin bags from outside peoples front doors. Im waiting to ask the neighbour about prices this week

Agree with you there 100% but in Dublin there is a lot more competition. I think the dump in Tullamore is still open it could work out cheaper filling you car and going there

I have "pay by lift" with one of these companies, and lately they've mysteriously forgotten to lift my bin on days that they lifted all my neighbours' bins ...

Now is it too cynical for me to think that because I only leave out my green bin once a month, this company has decided that it's not paying them well enough, so from time to time they leave my green bin so I'm stuck with it for 6 weeks, at great inconvenience to me, in the hope that I'll see the error of my ways and revert to a fixed price collection?

Call me an old cynic, but it's suspicious enough for me to decide to leave them.
