Ventilating the Attic

i was cleaning out the attic today and as i was doing so i checked the fascia sofit for vents as they are on the outside in the white plastic but guess what there is nothing inside... Its just timber and no vents/holes... Whats the best plan of action? What size hole should i drill in the sofit and how often... I noticed…

I noticed that the attic does sweat and have condensation, i'm guessing its as a result of this....
