Looking for a club is a good idea. You can get instruction and help so that when you buy a bow it will be one you want and one that suits you. You will need matched arrows in length and spine, that requires some guidance. Bring the Morelli with you, if it's safe to shoot and a suitable length then it's a good poundage to start with.

Clubs then to be affiliated to one, occasionally both, of the governing bodies for archery in Ireland.

    These are the websites:

    http://archery.ie/site/

    http://www.irishfieldarchery.com/

They will contain information on the clubs in Ireland. Links also.

The nearest clubs to Waterford are IFAF clubs, Dunbrody Archers in New Ross, Na Laoch Dall near Waterford and Blue Arrows near Kilmacthomas.

There's a dearth of IAAA/Archery Ireland clubs near you, Kilkenny and Balon being the nearest.

There are websites that will provide kit and a couple of shops in Ireland but get the instruction and help first. It will be costly and frustrating otherwise. It's not something you can take up without help.

Google Quicks archery, Alternative sporting services and Bowsports. All UK based and reputable.

I train over in the Kilkenny club on Thursday nights if you ever want to call up for advice on bits and pieces to buy.

Are you in Waterford City? Na Laoch Dall Archery Club shoot 7 to 10ish Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursdays in the Waterford Business Park (behind John Kellys Opel dealership out the Cork Road). Contact info on the website.

Very good, sound bunch of people, MASSIVE indoor range and an outdoor range out in the woods near the airport.

You're spoilt for choice there are several clubs around you now including a new one, Valley Bowmen (see Facebook) and the aforementioned Na Laoch Dall.
