    Hi,

I’ve got a Sony Ericsson J10i2 mobile which I’m trying to connect to the internet in my house. The router has just been updated to a new item and I’ve checked that the network mode is mixed and the security is also mixed (WPA/WPA2).

I’ve checked its specification (http://www.gsmarena.com/sony_ericsson_elm-3057.php) and it has wireless-g connectivity. I’m not sure about it’s security.

My Nokia 5800 XpressMusic does not connect either. I’ve checked its specification (http://www.gsmarena.com/nokia_5800_xpressmusic-2537.php) and it has wireless-g connectivity – what is its security – WPA or WPA2 – I assume WPA?

What could be stopping these connecting to the ‘net? The J10i2 seems to pick up the network but when you select a link it displays a transmission error.

    Thanks.

Putting in the wrong password could prevent it connecting.

Delete any settings on the phones for your old network, this might confuse them. Maybe it's trying to autoconnect using the old password.

The password should be the same. Actually, I've just noticed the the security setting was not as I expected, so I'll try it again tonight!
