Ladyfolk and Gentlehumans, What are your goals for the coming year?

I'm going to go with "train consistently again and enjoy it" rather than "add 50kg to my total", the latter doesn't seem to work so well.

Also, "total 200kg or do something else" is my ultimatum for the year!

I'm starting crossfit on Monday. It's been lovely being friends with all of ye over the years.

    :P

    Outside of that

Back to my 2012 goals. Stupid back injury

    2 x bw squat 1.5 x bw bench and 2.5 x bw deadlift at under 80kg

Some form of not being fat.

    Get my Brown Belt.

Maybe and adventure race in October.

Mine are very modest due to an evening masters taking up my whole life. So training is inconsistent at best outside Christmas and the Summer.

    1) Bench 140+, at about 130 now.
    2) Squat 200+, at about 175 now.
    3) Do both of those ^^ at 95kg or less (currently about 100kg).

May revise upwards if Summer training goes better than expected or if I find 2 days a week during term to get two proper sessions in.

1.) Become consistent in my technique for the snatch and clean and jerk. Rather than having the lifts feel different every couple of training sessions.

2.) Learn to eat properly and stick to a proper diet so I can get my body weight down.

    3.) Snatch my body weight.

4.) Actually do multiple pull ups

5.) Be more positive and enjoy training more. Try not to let the bad days get to me.

    300kg raw squat
    180kg bench
Total 700+ at the GPC or IPO nationals
    Get a deadlift that isn't ****
    Open my gym
    Walk around at 110kg +
    Continue being elite
Give equipped lifting a shot for sh*ts and giggles

After a crap December in which flu ( me, my wife and baby all one after another) kept me from doing much properly, I just want to get back to it.

I'd like to get my squat over 100kg, bench 70 kilo and deadlift 120.

10 pull ups would be nice ( im was at 5/6).

After a month of not lifting or eating enough Id like to move my weight back in the right direction (UP) while trying to lower bodyfat

Get back to training at some point. Winter is killing me!

    1) avoid injury
    2) compete again
    3) 100kg at < 10% bodyfat
    4) expand #RevFit
    5) hit some all time raw PRs

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,279 ✭✭✭ronanc15

    Mine would be as follows:

Beat an existing niggling back injury
    Avoid any further injury
Continue last years progress hit new PRs for deadlift, bench and squat. Would really be chuffed if I could make sigificant progress with the squat as it's my major weak point at the moment.
Most importantly continue to enjoy my training as much as I did in 2012

Yeah something like that as well! If anyone digs up the 2012 thread where I can see all the goals I didn't achieve I'll something something...

I'm taking a detour for the first two months of the year where I'm gonna start to do conditioning again and attempt to lean out so I'll leave any weight lifting number goals alone for that time period.

After that I'm gonna train strict enough weightlifting again for the nationals in June but I'm planning on maintaining whatever lean'ness I achieve at the start of the year. I can't give up the numbers game though so the goals will be to hit a 85/110 total..which I should have got last year but it'll be hard to get with a drop in bodyweight.

I haven't decided the second half of the year yet.

    180kg squat

    200kg dead

    100 kg bench

    70kg OHP

    12+ chins, 7 + pull ups.

Increase tricep strength and get bigger arms ;)

Better conditioning and DO MORE HILL SPRINTS!

    Bench 100kg 5x5
    Squat 150 5x5
    Deadlift 180kg 5x5

Want to learn to Snatch and Clean properly with good form, will reevaluate when learnt. Learning Cleans at the mo and doing well.

most important heal and get back to consistent proper training, last 12 months I've had to work around injuries. Heal patellar tendonitis and messed up rotary cuff. When thats sorted I'll decide on lifting goals.

    Body weight 220lb -> 220lb
    Body fat 20% -> 14%
    Primal style diet 90%
Phase out the last few items that contain wheat. Dam you Chef brown sauce and colmans mustard.

Get weight down to 11 stone, 9lbs by reducing fat.

    Then, bench 100kg.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,603 ✭✭✭Scuba Ste

    1. Bigger arms.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,462 ✭✭✭Orla K

Learn more about all this stuff.
Get that pull up(then get more)
Get on the right amount of thyroid hormones and sort out any other problems with that.
    Start doing back squats.

It's mainly sort out my thyroid, it's all I care about at the moment.

    Mine are:
    1. Be more consistent.
    2. Stay Injury Free.
    3. Get leaner.
    4. Get back to some decent benching as in 180kg+.
    5. Arms Bigger, Waist Smaller.
    6. Don't forget the legs! :D
    7. 1k on C2 in less than 3 mins so same as last year then! LoL

May I ask about your 100m time there? Just if you hit 1m21 for 500m then you are averaging 16.2 per 100m so I think even if you were doing a 1m30 500m now you'd be on for a 16.9 or so. biggrin.png

BTW 1m21 would be an excellent time!
