    Hi team,

My current account has gone into the red, which is fine as it seems there is an overdraft on the account. However a couple of my Direct Debits have come out of the account, with each one prompting a charge of €10. Is this normal or do I have an overdraft on my account at all? Seems like a really steep charge per transaction.

    Hi whitelightrider.

    Thanks for your query.

The charges you have incurred may be because you are currently overdrawn on your account. There is no charge for the first time this happens in any given fee quarter, however €3.50 will be charged the second and third time, €5 for the fourth and fifth time and €10 is the charge for each time thereafter.

Please see here for more information on our fees and charges.

If you don't currently have an overdraft facility active on your account, this may be an option for you. If you would like to apply for one, you may do so online, through your branch or by calling Banking365 on 0818 365 365.

    Hope this helps.

    Hey Laura,
If im getting charged at the minute would that mean that I dont have an overdraft facility?

Also where do I apply for one online?

    Many thanks,
    G

    Hi whitelightrider.

From your description above it would seem that there is no active overdraft facility in place on your account. Please contact your account holding branch or call Banking365 on 0818 365 365 and a representative will be happy to confirm this for you.

You can apply for an overdraft online here.

If you have any further queries, please don't hesitate to ask.

    Hi Laura,

One last question - I graduated from college (mature student) less than 3 years ago. Would I qualify for a Graduate account and if so how would I go about switching to this type of account from my personal account?

    Hi whitelightrider.

If you have graduated from full time third level education in the last three years, you can apply for a graduate current account.

As you currently have a student account with us, you will need to provide a copy of your final results, your certificate/degree or a letter on headed paper from your college stating that you have successfully completed your course to have the account upgraded to a graduate account. Please contact the Personal Advisor in your account holding branch who will be happy to arrange this for you.

Hope you have a lovely weekend.
    Laura
