old vs. slim: noise comparison

sounds like a title you would find in a mid life crisis forum. but is the slim quiet? I have the old version and it is even getting louder than the usual airplane engine noise it originally had. Not sure if worth buying a new one if the new one is still noisy.

The new one is waaaaay quieter, when not playing games mine is practically silent.
