anyone hear any more about this?! It's very random to say the least...
McPhails is a busy bar most of the time, fair play to the girl who was quick to grab his hand and see that it was a needle... no consolotaion though, she has to wait 6 months for an AIDS test. Feckin weirdos amongst us!! :eek:

She wasnt on duty, She was a random person out for a drink with friends which makes it more shocking tbh. The lad seemed to have just stuck it into any woman he saw at the bar and she was the unlucky one.

What the hell makes someone bring a cattle needle out with them? he had to have been planning on doing it that day. It must be so hard for the woman to have to wait 6 months before she can get the all clear. That come have been any of us or our family or friends.

On duty or not i fail to see anything funny about somone being intentionally stabbed buy a needle.

If as reported needle was for cattle use HIV would not be my concern as for other infections? HIV test is a standard precaution. As somone who has had an accidental needle-stick injury in my workplace it is an awful experience until the all clear no matter how small risks of infection are

That farmer deserves jail but I can see the excuses already "my client comes from a very decent family and was drunk at the time, he has 1,000 euro in court as compensation judge". And off he trots with a smirk on his face.

i am not for one minute standing up for this stupid guy but as a farmer i know not of any cattle needle that is 1cm in diameter.... wtf was he at?

Where did the 1cm come from whelan? 16gauge I read which is about 1.5mm in diameter and still ouch. For comparisons sakes 22gauge most often used when doctor/nurse draws blood from someone and that is about 0.6mm in diameter.

thats what was in the report in the irish independent.... anyways the diameter of the needle doesnt take away from the stupidty of the guy in this case

Getting stuck with a needle is one of my greatest fears. You never know wtf was in a needle and can lead to horrible effects.

If this dumb twat only gets jail he will be lucky.
