Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Thanks... I've provisionally reserved one in Liffey Valley ( only 1 more left there )

I looked at the specs on the LG site. LG Link

Other points on LG and not on the Argos description are
    1) it supports MKV file format, Divx
    2) there's a front USB for flash/external drives. ( a bit awkward at the front I think, but for the price I'd go for it )

    It doesn't support Wifi.

also features Smart TV technology giving access to thousands of on-demand movies, TV and videos courtesy of BBC iPlayer, Lovefilm and YouTube, plus a wealth of apps to download from LGs App store

Hadn't heard of "loveFilm" but they do rentals and aren't operating in Ireland... so that may not be accessible.
Also, I believe BBC iPlayer isn't accessible in Ireland (without going through a bit of technical trickery)

Also from a quick Google search some initial results suggest a simple DVD region changing hack is available.

It supports wifi via a seperate dongle but can also be hardwired .
It has an optical digital out too, seems to be very rare on Bluray players these days ,its all coaxial out.

Its a very nice player,I bought one just before Xmas.
Looks nice, has a lovely picture and the remote is very good too.

Don't think so,it was boxed up & behind the collection counter with a 'half price' label under it.

    Its fairly fast yes.
There is no quick start mode but that doesn’t stop it being a fairly responsive player
I bought it primarily to upscale my Dvds ,it loads them very quickly.

Is "1080p upscaling" from the LG spec the same as full 1080p?

OK, I understand the idea now.

Yeah, its all the same thing. Basically, if you play a standard DVD through this Blu-Ray player using 1080p upscaling and connect to tv using HDMI, the picture quality should be better than if played just using a standard DVD player using a SCART connection. Playing DVD's using a good upscaler can give them a new lease of life I think..

Good deal + the 20 lids for the dongle but it takes over the USB slot. How dies the hardwired option work?
