Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Ive a match at 2:30 so wont get to watch this.

We shoild coast through but ya just never know in the FA cup. Rafa has no pressure today, the team today will probably be :

    Turnbull
    Azp Cahill Ivan Bertie
    Ramires Luiz
    Moses Mata Hazard
    Torres

I think he'll start with as strong as possible abd leave Ba on the bench for a cameo later on and keep him fresh for the EPL game next week.

Rafa will probably go with a strong line-up after resting so many players against QPR :(

The FA cup will become more important now as Chelsea are more or less out of the title race.

Is this on TV today ?

BREAKING TEAM NEWS - Southampton v Chelsea (1500 GMT)
New signing Demba Ba starts up front for Chelsea - Fernando Torres, Frank Lampard and Oscar are all on the bench.

Would rather have saved Ba for Stoke!

having said, cant wait to see how Ba links up with Mata and Co, hopefully should love it!

In fairness Chelsea were long out of the title race by the QPR game...moreso since defeat at West Brom

Somebody is being a tad optimistic...

... for Southampton, 0-18 and Ba to get 17 of them. I joke! I'll take a 0-1 win so long as there is a good performance to go with it.

I'll applaud if we have a striker who takes 5 shots, let alone goals!

Delighted Ba is starting. It will be interesting to see how he will adapt to Chelsea style of play.

Saying that it would not take much to improve on Torres.

Delighted with Ba starting. Also like the look of ramires and luiz in midfield. Hopefully a good performance today.

Lively first 15, Luiz annoying me already with his usual lunging into tackles that aren't there to be lunged into!

Am I missing something or was Ba not way offside there?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 21,625 ✭✭✭✭Johner

    Torres would have missed that.:pac:

    He was behind Mata.

Torres would have got that one.;)

I know he would have most likely been standing on the wing.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 5,852 ✭✭✭homer simpson

Commentators on my "channel" saying that Torres won't be happy to seeing Ba get the tap in but the thing is Torres would never have been in the position to tap that one in, he'd be on the edge of the box sulking!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,985 ✭✭✭Essien

Theres the difference, Torres wouldn't bother his hole to chase that up, it may well have gone in either way but Ba's eagerness made sure of it.

Torres would have been standing on the penalty spot looking lost.

He was behind Mata when the ball was played. I did initially think he was offside too.

Clinical stuff from Moses there, beautiful strike.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 5,852 ✭✭✭homer simpson

Oooohhh if Moses keeps playing like this Torres will be number 3 choice!

  • Registered Users Posts: 8,868 ✭✭✭Andersonisgod

Moses has been excellent, a constant threat and a great strike for the second goal.

    Oh and Demba Ba!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,200 ✭✭✭hots

Ivanovic gets another! What's the Chelsea record for most goals from a defender in on season?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 3,258 ✭✭✭MUSEIST

That should be that. We are tearing them apart this half.
