Hey guys. I'm planning on going over to Christchurch in June for work. I've been looking at flights and most of them have multiple stops. Thing I want to know is, do I need visas if I'm just changing flights in places like Thailand or Australia. The stop overs range from 2-8 hours. Cheers guys.
As long as the flights are all connected and you are just in transit then no.

The tourist visa in thailand costs nothing and it's a cheap stopover. It is expensive to renew while in the country though.
