    Hi,

I have just installed a new HKC 10-70 alarm into my home this week and find that the key panel displays "tamper alarm on external bell box" each time I try and set the alarm. I have installed it correct to the best of my knowledge and nothing seems to work. One thing I did notice is that both the bell box and the control panel have 4k7 resistors for the tamper of the bell box, is this correct? Some installation manuals shows only one in the bell box. Any help is much appreciated.

    Thanks in Advance.

    Pentax :)

There should be only 1 resistor in series with the tamper return . Remove the other one & it should solve the problem.;)

    Hi Koolkid,

Thanks for the reply. The one resistor in series is what i thought. However when I bought the control panel and the SSAB ext bell earlier this week both the control panel and the SSAB had a resistor in the tamper terminal of the PCB board. I removed the one from the control panel and it still came up with "tamper alarm Ext bell", any advise? Do I need to change any settings within the engineering options section of the alarm?

Do you know if I should remove the resistor in the bell box or in the control panel?

Keep it in the bell . There's a diagram on the pcb showing where it needs to be connected . Is the tamper switch in the bell being closed ? Are the lights flashing side to side in the bell .
