Switched to Bord Gais... We think?

OH and myself moved into rented accomodation on the 10th of October, and applied online to switch our electricity to Bord Gais on the same day. We were told it would take up to 60 days for the switch. All we have received since is a letter from ESB about a week after this letting us know that the supply at our address was under our names. Three months on and still no word, no bill, no letter of welcome - nothing. We have no account details, so we can't log on to check status of bill or even submit a reading! We're both terrified that we will get stung with a massive bill for the past three months (assuming we get one soon) even though we are saving for it. Does it normally take this long?

Why don't you ring both, and see who the account is with? Then you'll know for sure..

Seems we don't need to - just got a letter in the post from Bord Gais telling us our account is in arrears because the direct debit failed. We weren't given a direct debit date, or any copy of a bill - electronic or paper. No login details or anything - wonder if it is common practise?

You should have gotten something in the post regarding the account details alright, but you really should ring them now that you have an account number

Not a thing in the post, just sifted through all of our emails - absolutely nothing - will have to give them a ring so!
