QPR - Saturday 12th January

Following QPR's draw against West Brom in the third round of the FA Cup on Saturday, our Premier League match at Loftus Road scheduled for Monday, January 14 will now switch to Saturday week, January 12.

The Premier League encounter will kick-off at 12.45pm and still be screened live by Sky Sports.

This has become an absolutely massive game for us especially with the other fixtures on saturday and sunday; Stoke v Chelsea, Man United v Liverpool & Arsenal v Man City.

Some of these teams will be dropping points and it's a fantastic opportunity for us to steal a march on our rivals for the CL places.

QPR went from piss-poor to excellent in their last 2 fixtures and are desperate for points on the board. Then there's the 'Arry factor to consider; he'll have his lads well up for it, no doubt.

What are the predictions for this one? And what team would you like to see lining out?

    Hugo

    Walker Dawson Vert BAE

    Lennon Sandro Dembele Bale

    Defoe Ade.

    0-4.

    Bale 2
    Vert
Dempsey. ( when he comes on for Ade)

This fixture last season was just depressing to watch. I don't know if Arry can get QPR to be as boring and lucky as they were then so I'm not too fearful.

QPR were terrible against Liverpool and they were poor against Chelsea (Chelsea just couldn't stick the ball in the net).

An early goal will be crucial and I think we'll do it, Bale and Lennon on great form and play Naughton and Benny at full back based on form.

3-1 Lennon, Adebayor with a brace before he departs and Taarabt to score a consolation against his former club.

On form, we should stuff them, be in reality it has the makings of a tough game. But as someone said, if we could score early, I can see us going on to win. As strange as it sounds, I actually fancy us to win away from home more than at home these days.

The way we have been playing away from home the last 5/6 weeks this is 3 points if we can do the same.

    I think well be seeing

    Hugo

    Walker Caulker Vertz Naughton

    Lennon Sandro Dembele Bale

    Defoe Ade

Although i wouldnt mind seeing dempsey start for defoe

That would be a brave move considering Defoe has been the only consistant striker bagging this season.

I was at it, terrible game and I was so confident going to it...
Think we are more dependable at the moment than we were last year and they are worse. Harry factor will be worth a bit to them. hopefully can get out with a win - 2-1 Spurs.

The goals have dried up for him the last month or so and perhaps a break would do him good. Plus if Ade is heading off we may aswell use him while we can and he may perform better being the focal point.

Also i think that Dempsey is due a start in the league. Since the first 5/6games i think hes ben improving and is really starting to affect our attacking play and Harry would no a lot less about him than defoe

I think will get through this one by the skin of our teeth. HR will have them well prepped for it and they do seem to have turned a corner. As mentioned earlier this could be an important weekend for us in terms of the other top teams playing eachother but it wouldnt be the end of the world if we drew.

I would like to see the following:

    Hugo

    Walker Dawson Vert BAE

    Lennon Sandro Dembele Bale

    Defoe Dempsey.

People say that Defoe's goals have dried up but Ade hasn't even started. Naughton has been playing well but I don't see him as being consistent enough yet. Same with Caulker. You have those two plus Ade, Brad, Parker and Siggy on the bench along with whoever we sign by the weekend :) - that's not bad by any means......

Agreed - i fancy us against anyone away from home

I just heard on the radio that Adebayor will miss up to 6 games but will be available for Saturday's trip to Loftus Road.

6 games is a worst case secenario even if he patches up his differences with the Togo federation. They are in a tough group and are not likely to qualify for the knockout stages.

Personally I would always play Adebayor in front of Defoe. He is a force of nature who pops up all over the oppostion half causing problems. Defoe almost never brings anyone else into the game which makes him relatively easy to mark and his head drops whenever he misses (which is frequently).

As regards QPR, last year's game was a bit of a freak I thought. It was a late kickoff with an unbelievably strong, low sun in Friedels eyes for the first half which was a major contributor to the goal. The sun dropped below the stand for the second half and QPR just clung on like an away team after the sneaked in front.

    Spurs by 2 or 3.

Really? He’s looked anything but a force of nature, dollar bills is the only thing driving him. We’ll see come the end of the season what his contribution will be other than shaking the entire arsenal and city squad.

Hopefully this will help our chances...

Not sure if he'll be available for a game this weekend.

I saw his press conference on Sky today and he explained what he meant with that statement, apparently was referring to Benitez and had nothing to do with AVB.

Or he was backtracking after he said:

"You'd have to be a real dope to mess it up with that group of players - (Eden) Hazard, (Juan) Mata, (Frank) Lampard.

That's a cheap jibe if ever there was one. I was a very happy Spur when Harry was at the helm but he shafted us in the latter half of last season.

Quote me "You'd have to be a real dope to be ten points clear in third with Modric, Parker and Van Der Vaart in your team and mess it up" and yet he has no idea why he was sacked??

Hopefully we give them a proper hiding & help our GD out too..If we are gonna start hammering teams & attack until they cant be any possible comebacks ., we may as well start with QPR! The worse bit is im gonna miss the game & be off the grid in the hills of Louth doing paintball for my birthday........COYS!

Defoe hattrick please & Tarrant sending off is all I want :-)

If we get an early goal we should win this handy. Fingers crossed the manager of the month curse doesn't strike AVB!

Yes but Hazard was not there when AVB was there, maybe it was Benitez he was referring to.

Looks good, Benny obviously lacking fitness, hopefully Ade and Defoe put the effort in..

Started well, with some cracking saves from the QPR keeper. Ade should have finished it, but to be fair it was great keeping.

That was some shot! Poor finish from Adebayor...

Great start, we look well up for this!
