Casual employment/holidays

    Hi All,

I've been on casual employment for 2 months, working a three day week and am handing in dockets to my local social welfare office on a weekly basis for my Jobseekers Allowance claim. I would like to go on holidays later in the year for 10 days or so and am wondering what the protocol is for this. Is it allowed for me to get someone to hand in the docket for me or do I tell the office and they let me give the dockets in advance? If anyone has been in the same situation, I would appreciate any information.

    Thanks,
    Jennifer

You can apply for holidays prior to going. You can have 12 days holidays in each calendar year(that is 2 weeks less the Sundays). You can leave the dockets in in advance if you are happy to have your cheques issued while you are not there. You can leave them in after you get back either.
