That's the Salthill Hotel, lovely pool. The exit is the other way Leigh.
Owen is a bit monotone, isn't he? I guess that's his 'cool' persona.

Emma's still wearing her new shoes. The acting has reached a new low this week. Why was Owen ringing a college student asking him did he know any lawyers? This show.

So where is the little daughter from ep1?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,009 ✭✭✭✭wnolan1992

Eh... so... are we actually ever going to find out who killed Emma's father? I mean, there was kind of a big deal made about the murder in Ep. 1 and Ep. 2, but it seems to be getting less and less important as the series goes on. :pac:

I know I say this every week, but I'm still enjoying it despite its flaws (of which there are many).

The show is one big flaw

Still,I got a laugh out of the accused rapist telling his dad "I was sick of her anyway, so it's a win win".

Yeah bloody gross, I nearly threw up:eek:.

Anyone with half a brain wouldn't go to the woods to meet the woman he knew was lying............................................... would they??

It does beg the more serious question though about how you can be accused of rape or any offence and its automatically assumed that you are guilty, without any consequences for the accuser if it turns out to be a total false accusation

The magic Avensis / Audi from last week was being driven by the cops.

I think the key element to tie all the plot lines together is going to be breakfast ingredients. First it was the beans and now it's the gratuitious use of orange juice.

I wouldn't be surprised if the murder weapon happened to be a black pudding, which the assailant then ate to destroy the evidence.

How many times did they show the housing estate last night? It's not an auctioneer's brochure.

But a local auctioneer was clearly availing of the relaxed rules on product placement...

When her from Love/Hate was talking about getting some work at the hospital, all I could think of was Darkplace:
Dr. Liz Asher: Hi, I've come to apply for the doctor's job. I can assure you my credentials are top-notch, I've just graduated from Harvard College Yale. I aced every semester, and I got an 'A'.
Receptionist: (wooden) Well that sounds excellent. Our last doctor only just recently died in horrific circumstances. Can you start immediately?
Dr. Liz Asher: Sure, do I have time to go to the toilet?
Receptionist: (wooden) Not really, I've just paged Dr. Sanchez to come and pick you up.
Dr. Lucien Sanchez: I'm Dr. Sanchez! You're a woman.
Dr. Liz Asher: Yes, I hope that's not a problem.
Dr. Lucien Sanchez: Not at all. There's plenty of skirt on the ward, this is the 20th century after all though some don't like to admit it. Welcome to Darkplace, Liz.

My favourite part from last night was when the solicitor (who was dealing the milky bar racist and the guy from the radio ads) answered his phone upside down.

    (The part after the woods).

Is next week the last one? I haven't seen it yet but no doubt good ol' TV3 will just start showing it from the start at the same time the following week. I really have to see how bad this is.

I was getting a train last week when a couple of youths (15-17, I would reckon) were there. One asks his friend for his lawyers number. The friend replied saying he would give it to him and told him he was really good because of the number of times he had gotten off. Guess it is possible for younger people to know lawyers.

This show is still as cringey as ever. But I still want to see what happens.

This has to be one of the worst shows to come out of Ireland yet.

There were too many "highlights" to chose from in last nights episode but I was particularly amused by the accused rapist leaving the police station and going home in the white garda examination jumpsuit so as to identify him as a criminal (or lost csi investigator) to all. Then his willingness to stop and have for chat and a weak wave to the neighbours on his way was just hilarious.

If nothing else it has started to make me laugh so I'm going to keep tuning in.

Hmm, that was actually kind of cool. That scene in the first ep wasn't as mad and out of place as we all thought....

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,454 ✭✭✭mloc123

The thread has fairly fizzled out since the mystery of Len and the beans was wrapped up.

"The first time I saw your brother he was dead. Now **** off!"

In a way, it's kind of cool that his poor acting makes it even more obvious that he's lying through his arse. :pac:

The photo and memory card thing was a bit subtle, didn't put yer man down for so refined a bit of threatening behavior.

Ah here, that's hardly the end of the series? :(

  • Registered Users Posts: 16,305 ✭✭✭✭Mr.Prodston

Using the phrase "half measure" wasn't really the best tactic. Just reminded me of Mike's advice in Breaking Bad: (from season 3 episode 12 so if you're not that far you have been warned)

The makers might have hoped for another series but sorry lads it's not going to happen.
Still I for one will treasure this a warning not an example.

So Nicky has got rid of two brothers now.I cant figure out what he hits Johnny with in the vacant house. It wasn't the watch because Johnny threw it on the floor.I dont think he did it with the gun either?

Anyway, there dont seem to be a follow up of the stories each week.Just things happen, and there is no more about it after that.

They cant just leave it at that surely? There must be another series in the pipeline?......

He hits him with the hammer he had stashed down the back of his pants.

Did anybody recognise who was on the phone in the final scene ?

I took the phone caller to be Jack French.
I might be wrong, seems to make sense in a warped way.
I'm all for another season, I think it improved ad the weeks went by.
Yep slot of the scripting and acting was piss poor, especially blondie "back on the morket" eejit.
I still found myself watching it every week.

Yep, in a perverse way I want some more.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,295 ✭✭✭Joe10000

Yeah have to agree, I want to see more too. A full episode showing married life between Eoin and fake raper would be fun.

I don't see why jack would be calling the dead guy looking for money tho ??

cos jack clued him in on the money, and they were going to split it 50/50... Which would get Jack out of trouble and get Uncle Matt the prize of besty uncle ever for a 6 week period when he never knew about his niece beforehand award

There was a suspicious lack of breakfast foodstuffs in shot this week. Therefore, it was a can of baked beans on the phone.

Is it just me or did this thing just step up a couple of gears ? Seems a lot better quality, particularly the acting and writing, from a few weeks ago..

I just got round to watching it there now andf following this thread as well. I see after the murder his shirt mysteriously was a lot cleaner when he was climbing the wall than just after the murder :D

why didn't he destroy the photo, that would have been the first thing I'd have done

Haha, that picture is amazing. Look at the sleazy expression on his face.

My theory is that he is the murderer and he took off his shirt cos there was loads of blood on it.

Just quoting myself for my Miss Marple levels of detection. ;)
Caught up with the finale this evening, we got bonus wall climbing, delighted with that! Overall, not bad, the confusion from episode one was cleared up at least.
Why would grown kids be asleep in the car in the middle of the day? Who wears a fascinator on a normal evening out? Why would you come back early just cos you forgot your keys? A boutique shop has a dress that costs only 50 euro? Andrew doesn't even act surprised when Matt jumps into his van out of nowhere?
    Still, I've enjoyed it!

Any one any idea why Deception isnt on...did the series finish without me even realsing it...I mean it was fairly hopeless but.....where is it gone ?

    Yep, finished series, for now.

Wifes black clothes lain out as if for mourning. Veiled threat, far too subtle for a thug imnsho but then the photo was a bit oblique too.
Writers trying to show how clever they are rather than how clever the character is.
