hi. not sure if i've put this in the right forum. i was talking to a couple of mates recently who are in a band and they were telling me that they rarely get paid for gigs in dublin even though they also have to pay the venue at least €100 to have the privilege to play there. is paying to play the norm in this country?

Join us in the bands and musicians community where we regularly talk about such stuff. We have a blanket ban on advertising pay to play gigs as we feel they are wrong, immoral and there are many ways to work with bands.
