The joys of finishing college and having nothing to do for the summer.

Took the plunge into the Chinese market and ordered a Xiaomi Mi 3, can't wait :D Does the DHL 2-5 day option really take that short though? Was expecting to be waiting a month, but for 20 Euro, hopefully it'll be here next week

Xiaomi Mi3 is a great phone, let us know how you get on with it

I wonder if this is suitable for use on any of the Chinese phones?

Further to my previous post. I googled Mobogenie. I wouldn't want it anywhere near my phone

I think this is for the Chinese market only

    The 3G won't work here

Hi Barr, you may be right, different sites have different 3G specs, some of the confusion may be down to a similar new Lenovo phone the S8, this review http://www.gsmarc.com/lenovo/golden-warrior-a8/reviews/, states that it has the same 3G bands as my current Lonovo phone, so we may have to wait until it goes on sale.

3-4 days in the arse end of Leitrim for me! Expect another 20 on top of that if you don't get it labeled as a gift

Hi, I've just received my Hongmi 1s with etotalk rom, but it looks they thought it was going to Israel!
Could anyone step me through the menu options to change the language please?

The language settings has a (A) symbol, should be easy enough to find.

Sweet! Why what's the extra 20 about? :(

Import Duty, it's a tax based on the value of the goods, it might be even more than that for a Mi3. If you can prove it's for personal use I think you can get away without it.

Any opinions on this for my first foray into the wonderful world of chinese android phones. Was looking for something which would match galaxy note 2/3 without having to remortgage the house and came across the Kingzone. have seen a few reviews about it and seems to be getting good feedback. Should be about €200-€220 delivered which is the budget and for that I would be getting
    5.5" 1080P screen
    2 GB Ram
    16 GB Rom
    14Mp camera
    Expandable memory
    NFC
    OTG
    Wireless charging
Snappy performance (From what I have seen in reviews)
    Looks good
    Thoughts?

I would find it hard to justify that price .. especially with the Lenovo K910 selling for about half that price on Etotalk.

  • Registered Users Posts: 17,935 ✭✭✭✭Thargor

Yeah 280-300 would be my limit there I think, thought only the Oppos and a couple of other luxury ones were still touching 400, will have to wait and see.

Ibood not a total rip off today, would have jumped on this 6 months ago:

Would anyone recommend buying any of these phones from tmart? All very cheap. Or are Tmart not good to deal with?

Cannot realy quote on phones from tmart but from my own experience with dealing with them they are fine.
Ordered probably from them 7-8 times no problems free shipping is a pain usually 3-4 weeks dhl under a week though.
Somebody else on here will guide you phone wise, just link to the phone you are looking at somebody will reply.:pac:

Depends on the phone, lots of places have cheap phones, Tmart are ok to deal with as far as I am aware.

The flagship has always been advertised around that price, the Mini and Max versions are the bargains out of the 3 (The mini more so)

I reckon Etotalk will discount it by about $300

It will end up similar to this at a guess

There's the Max, still a decent enough phone, ticks all my boxes anyway, will have to wait and see though.
