I hate to reignite the spat, but its defintely worth being cautious about android viruses, a pulid I got had one, I changed its whole rom as the virus was built into a system app. Its not like this can't happen to any phone with a dodgy play store app, but when its system level its a case of reflashing to remove it. Id reccomend seeking out forum threads on any particular phone and seeing if any users found anything odd.

Bought a THL 5000 from Gearbest yesterday, got my DHL tracking No. today, very impressed with the speed, €195 all in (paid with Paypal & got crap exchange rate but peace of mind), if ordering make sure to add all the free gifts listed on this page, http://www.gearbest.com/cell-phones/pp_68240.html also I got 10% off using the code chinaphonearena as seen on this site http://www.chinaphonearena.com/forum/index.php. Will update when received.

Dacent price including DHL delivery. That is two on here that have ordered this phone.

Can't wait to hear what it’s like.

Ok so I think I'm going to with the Huawei Honor 3C from merimobiles

    http://www.merimobiles.com/huawei-honor-3c_p/meri10254.htm

Just interested to see if people have any thoughts about it first.

Edit: Nevermind, it appears to not have a glass display of any sort.

Of course it has a glass display, maybe not gorilla glass but its likely something very similar just unbranded. The 3c is regarded as one of the best chinese phones, only downside is the average cpu.

What frequency does Three 3G operate on?

I'm about to pull the trigger on the Mlais Note Pro but it says its 3G bands are 850/2100MHz...

Does the Optimus G Pro have Gorilla Glass? Can't find any definitive info online.

    3 uses 2100 MHz UMTS/HSPA for 3g, according to http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hutchison_3G#Radio_frequency_summary_5.

Yeah I was going through reviews and the reviewer said it didn't have Glass protection or something along those line, then on a different review it states it uses Gorilla Glass. It's the front runner for me at the moment.

    Thanks.

I'm edging towards the Optimus G Pro at the moment though. I'm getting mixed info online about it having Gorilla Glass. A bunch of reviews and even wikipedia says it does (GG II), but there's no info about it on the LG site, nor is there on the Corning site under LG devices. One or two reviews have said it doesn't have it too. I can't seem to get any concrete info.

    Anyone know?

Where did you get it from? And anything else you would recommend in that price range?

I got it from Mixeshop in March. One of the other guys might be able to help you with that I haven't been looking recently as I'm moving to a one plus one any day now.

If i was looking for something I'd try make sure it had 4g though.

I was looking at the one plus aswell but the invites are frustrating to wait on. Anyone ever gotten anything off aliexpress because they seem to have it?

Should I select the root firmware installation on merimobiles?

Yep, only way to get play store on most chinese phones.

You could easily root it yourself. Plenty of guides online.

If it doesn't cost too much I'd go pre-rooted, just for convenience.

Jayzus, nicely done. I'd ordered off Deal Extreme but they are now saying that they won't have stock until Friday at the earliest. Cancelled the order and went via your method above. Cheers.

Does anyone know of a high end phone with a 5" screen which will work with meteor/emobile 4G?

I'm tempted by the likes of the oneplus or the Mi4 but the LTE side is letting them down.

Put an order in for the Huawei 3C, hopefully no issues.

Can somebody please tell me what's wrong with this phone? http://www.fasttech.com/product/1739102 Besides the known GPS issue with the chip, what am I missing? Seems too good for the price.

Nope, lots of MTK6582 phones around in that price range.

    http://www.pandawill.com/doogee-voyager2-dg310-smartphone-mtk6582-android-44-1gb-8gb-50-inch-wake-gesture-otg-p91887.html

Don't expect updates for any of these phones though, some may have some 'community support' but with the range of phones available nowadays I would think this is probably less likely.

That's an xiaomi hongmi clone. Looks pretty good for the price, but I wouldn't trust the specs (mainly screen resolution)

Edit - According to aliexpress the specs of Mijue m3000 are mtk6572 cpu, 512mb ram, 854x480 resolution.. so yeah I definitely wouldn't trust that site http://www.aliexpress.com/wholesale?SearchText=Mijue+M3000&catId=&initiative_id=SB_20140730103621
