weird emails

I have received what look like a couple of emails sent to someone else. The other person/account has a full stop between their first and second name on their gmail account, I have a similar name without the full stop and have gotten these odd emails. When I click on the see details arrow, I can see that they are addressed…

I have received what look like a couple of emails sent to someone else.

The other person/account has a full stop between their first and second name on their gmail account, I have a similar name without the full stop and have gotten these odd emails. When I click on the see details arrow, I can see that they are addressed not to me but the full stop guy!!

Is it someone messing around??

Gmail doesn't count full-stops for addresses. johnsmith@gmail.com, john.smith@gmail.com and j.oh.n.s.mi.th@gmail.com are all the same address. Source

when i tried to contact the other person i got a notification that theirs was an invalid email address!
