How do you do that? Not getting an option to scrap /take when I look/line up stuff

When you're in Sanctuary, hold down the touch pad or whatever the Xbox equivalent is if you're on that, and walk up to stuff and press Square/X when it's highlighted.

In Sanctuary, go to one of the work tops and hit X if ps4 for example, then walk around the site and it prompts you to scrap things if you point at them

Question about the 'Pull the plug' mission. Did it ages ago does the
    water ever drain away

Yeah it does. I went back a while ago and it's swarming in raiders but completely drained out. Goes down a fair bit too in to some kind of cavern. Going to go down for a look tomorrow

Got mine earlier from Gameseek. Been playing for around 6 hours, and 4 hours of that was scrapping everything in Sanctuary. Trees, cabinets, fences, mailboxes, nothing was safe! :D

Now I should probably start killing stuff...

    Its unbelievably addicting.

Building. Remodelling. Landscaping. Interior design. Security. I started to be more concerned with building my settlement up than anything else!

Worst part was it took me hours of gameplay before I realised stuff in Sanctuary could be scrapped so I was grinding out scavenging missions and trading like Gordon Gecko to get my **** going!

Its tremendous. There will be so much replay value in this.

Anyone know how to put a new fusion core into your power armor?

  • Registered Users Posts: 29,844 ✭✭✭✭Zero-Cool

Cleared out Corvega car plant and headed back to Sanctuary as i didn't know you had to assign people to resources. I built a radio beacon to call in new settlers and built more beds. Then had a proper go at customising guns and armour. Tripled my shotgun power and i even made Lucille (Walking Dead comic fans?). Getting no quests done but I'm bloody chuffed with myself.

Will really have to dead to Diamond City soon to see what the fuss is about.

Anyone else having a lot of difficulty trying to build things the way you want to?

Anyone know how to put a new fusion core into your power armor?

Same way you put the first fusion core in. You obviously need to find more fusion cores first.

    I have 105 of them.

    I have 105 of them.

If you have them on you they will auto swap out old one for new one when it runs out whilst wearing power armour. If you look at where your core energy meter is it should have a number underneath saying how many cores you have.

You won't have it until Friday at the earliest. I ordered from Gameseek also but didn't want to wait so picked up a copy in Argos yesterday.

    Cheers

Think I'm gonna have to return this, the motion sickness is killing me. If I was on PC, I'm sure there'd be a decent mod, or I could just adjust some setting, but on PS4, no dice. Sad :(

Just a tip for anybody who is swapping out companions. If you build a bell at in one of your towns and ring it, all the NPC's will come to you. It's a good way to assign settlers to tasks and also a good way to swap out companions.

Except Dogmeat. He doesnt come. A lot of people lose him and here is the trick. There are 3 kennels in Sanctuary. Dogmeats one is to the LEFT of the entrance bridge as you walk into the town. So he will be there. You can pick up his Kennel and move it to your crafting station/power armor station to make things easier.

If all else fails and you still cant find him, open up the console using tilde and type player.moveto 1D162 and you will teleport to his location.

wasted so much time managing my inventory in the first few hours, and trying to figure out which guns are better and arranging them on the favourites bar. probably spent 60% of my time doing that. i'm much more selective in my looting now, not stripping every corpse to their underpants helps a lot.

game is proper hard too which is great. i got slaughtered in the first three areas i went to after clearing the car plant. ammo is very very scarce now and the traders never seem to have much of it, or have much money to trade with at all for that matter. i'm gonna specialise in melee for a while i think.

Are you confusing fusion cores for fusion cells? (Cells are an ammunition)

    Motion sickness?

I guess fov issue. It can be bad on pcs, but usually on tv narrow 60 degree fov works unless he is playing on monitor and up close.

The quest completes itself when you turn on the pumps, but there is still an uncompleted entry on the subquest list that tells you to talk to the guy again. I presumed that I was to call back to him some time later. So... I did. The whole thing drained with LOAD of bandits there. The guy who got me to drain it was sitting down th bottom in his underwear and a russian Ushanka hat. Killed him. Seemed really fishy when I was being asked to do it for him in the first place.

The motion sickness is almost certainly an FOV issue. Google some FOV fix for Fallout 4. Possibly a relatively easy fix with an .ini file tweak.
I also found that there is some major camera sway (something that possibly causes some motion sickness whe you dont have a weapon drawn.

The most Fusion Cores that I've ever had in almost 20 hours of play is my current total of 12.

How are people playing this? Sticking in the power armour the whole time? or just abandoning it and fast travelling back to get it when you know you're going to need it?
Found some replacement pieces of power armour but the current payoff of them having weight versus the default pieces (being weightless) aren't worth it...yet. Got myself enough cores to keep me in the suit. Obviously doesn't help with a stealthy approach but hey.

The fishyness is not just imaginary. When he first asks you to drain the lake for him, check his cabin 10 feet away and hack his terminal. He has a journal detailing his plan to use the place as a base to rob nearby people. So the game gives you the option of rumbling him.

I knew what he was going to do but did it anyway because I thought it would be cool to see how it turned out. Murdered his entire crew later on including him. There were about 40 of them. Was fairly epic. :P

As an aside, my favourite mission so far is when you meet Kent Connolly. I had an absolute blast
dressing up as the Silver Shroud and killing bad guys while acting the part.
    Was hilarious.

If you haven't already, try going into deep water while in power armor :D Really feels amazing.

Just a heads up to Xbox folks at least, I;ve been getting corrupt saves every time I finish up playing and switch off the xbox.

Seems to only happen if you save and just power off the console, saving and quitting to the main menu seems to prevent it. I know most of us will be saving like crazy anyway, but just thought I'd mention it just in case.

Only kicked off last night, with a couple of hours playing. Really enjoying it. I did spend nearly all that time just scrapping stuff and building beds! ;)

I do find it hard to figure out how armor works, as in being able to compare armor pieces easily.

Also assigning people to stations, it is hard to know if it actually happened. I clicked on a settler and then chose to assign them to a station. But nothing seemed to happen. The person didn't move there or anything, and there was no on screen visual clue to tell me they had been assigned (unless I am missing anything?).

I am guessing if I want to grow carrots, for example, that I need to find a carrot somewhere first to plant?

But all in all it is fantastic so far.

I'm 2¹/² hours in now and just got to the red garage outside the starting point.

On the plus side my man looks awesome even if his face looks like it got hit with a chainsaw :D

I also just realised that you don't have to fill all your points into the first their of perks before moving onto the level two :(
